As an all round package the car is just fantastic. A really comfortable cruising car, but with lots of power and massive grip. Sounds great too.

The gearbox has started slipping a little in second gear so it's booked into Unit 20 in a couple of weeks to get that done, and some preventative work too like pipes etc.

Can't wait to get it back.
Mine has started to do that.
I'm panicking!
Please PM me details and costs.
I'm telling the wife it's nothing serious...
She will be majorly miffed if it means no holiday next year!!

Just another Tayside PH'er letting you know I'll be keeping an eye out for you, haha.

Car looks fantastic and always had an itch for an RS6 Avant.

Cheers,
Grant

Lovely car again, we both have come from 147gtas to fast estates if my memory serves me right.

I love the rs6 but the gearbox/suspension issues did scare me off. The v10 version is just a step too far in terms of costs so went to AMG...

Keep us updated on how you get on but can presume no more big bills for a long time for you.

Stunning car, definitely on my wish list! 20 mpg is very impressive for one of these. How much did the gearbox rebuild etc. set you back?

1000 miles in 7 months?

Great car, sounds like it needs to be let out more often.

Being an Audi tech, I love these! Can't beleive the gearbox is so weak! The mention of the £6500 bill made me wince, but if you keep it for another 6 yrs, with only servicing req'd, man maths justifies that at prob around £100 per month in bills!

That looks the mutts!

Would love an RS6 but ront have quite that deep pockets though so im in a D2 S8 with lpg!

Funny you should mention about the quattro! I had a mate with me the other month and when i pulled off from the lights he was like ''god that grips'' i wasnt even gunning it but you can just squeeze the throttle and your off, no drama!

I made a friend full on wet himself with laughter when i launched my old B5 S4, though the grip was just there!

We need some exhaust vids wink

I keep looking at these and this topic really doesn't help! biggrin

Asides not being able to tow a trailer, the fear of also getting stung big time when I have other projects that I need funds for is keeping the wallet shut... for now.

Very nice EE. If I hadn't gone for a B5 then one of these was a distinct possibility - proper Bahn-storming estate! cool
