Start point for Cat and Fiddle

Hi has anybody got a start post code/location for the cat and fiddle road, I will be leaving central Derby tomorrow and could do with a point to aim for to begin my route?

I'll go from left to right if that makes sense?

It was a great road in a French death wagon (5GT Turbo/1.9GTi) in the late 80's/early 90's but is now policed to high heaven
Consequently Im much more likely to traverse it on a push bike which is a different kind of fun

You could probably do better for drivers roads

Beware of the average speed cameras... they aren't average speed cameras! They've been set as spot speed cameras apparently; My mate got a ticket from one a few weeks back in his van, after he'd been stuck behind a bus for a long section well under the 50limit, he overtook it and went through the next camera at 58 just after thinking he was safe on the average.

There's lots of other good roads in the area like the WhalleyBridge to Macclesfield road (B5470) or LongHill (A5004) from Buxton to Whalley. Put the three together and you've got a very nice route.

Thats what I and my mate) thought. However as I said he was stuck behind a bus at30-40 for almost the whole section between cameras so couldn't have averaged over 50 and questioned the fine. He was told "they might look like average cameras but they have been changed to take 2 pictures and your speed through the camera was 58mph.
