Onkyo 606 not passing signal through

Wonder if anyone can offer any pointers?

Really basic setup, Onkyo 606, older (5 yrs?) panny plasma and a freesat box.

If i plug the box in to the tv it works fine. Plug it into the onkyo and it gets odd.

First off no picture appears on the tv but after a few minutes you get sound through the onkyo.

Then if you leave it for 10-20 minutes sometimes the picture appears on the tv, other times you have to switch it all on/off a few times and its fine.

Now it does nothing, the whole lot has been disconnected and moved around the lounge (Mrs redesigning!)

Tried different inputs on the onkyo without any difference.

If i switch between sd and hd channels on the freesat the onkyo clicks and changes the display to show different sound input etc

Any suggestions?
