Local knowledge help please - What roads to take?

I’m planning a weekend to the Evo triangle and will be travelling into Wales via M4 from the East.

What are good roads for getting to and from the Triangle from the M4 in South Wales? Ideally looking for a different route each way.

Builth Wells > Rhayader > Llanidloes > A470 towards Blaneau Ffestiniog > Turn off on the A4212 towards Bala (really nice road)

Evo Triangle > horseshoe pass > Oswestry > Welshpool > Newtown > A483 to Builth Wells (another very nice run).

That would probably be my choice
