Thanks for the comments guys. I enjoy working on the car but this is not the most exciting job tbh.
I have the worlds only 2 stroke TVR, uses 1 litre of engine oil per tank of fuel which is roughly 50:1 lol. So yes new rings and a hone plus bedding them in on an engine dyno. These total seal rings are a bit of a bugger to bed in apparently.

Did you jump to Synthetic to early ? I have the worlds only 2 stroke TVR, uses 1 litre of engine oil per tank of fuel which is roughly 50:1 lol. So yes new rings and a hone plus bedding them in on an engine dyno. These total seal rings are a bit of a bugger to bed in apparently.

Sorry to hear of your woes, hope you get it sorted
In the meantime, perhaps you could cheer yourself up by telling me what's going on under there when it's 100%? Not seen that set up before, if you don't mind Else?
It's a 5.2 V8 Developments bottom end with heads developed by Rob and David Vizard. The ports are raised and the heads are relocated so that the valves are nearer the centre line of the bore. This has resulted in the original inlet manifold not fitting so a bespoke twin plenum has been fabricated with 2 80mm throttle butterflys. The plenum draws cold air from the area in front of the radiator. It's currently running a Motec ECU but I'm moving to Emerald, doing the conversion while the engine is away. Thanks for that Wow, certainly sounds like one hell of a lump. What kind of figures does it make?I was confused about the plenum and the area where on a standard car, the y-piece would clamp to the manifolds. Thought there might be a brace of Turbos under there or something.
