We'll you would expect to say that there's no way to compare the two but you would be very surprised. Having now owned 3x3R's and 3 xGTR's it is surprising how similar the GTR handling feels compared to the Noble. Even at 600kgs heavier the GTR handles as if it were the same wight as the Noble. It's stopping power and change of direction feel so similar to the Noble. The only place the weight really becomes apparent is in a tight hairpin bend but even then it's not so different.

It's fair to say that the comparison is against my car with updated 620BHP output, Litchfield Bilstein bespoke suspension with anti roll bar kit and 400mm Alcon brakes but there again most of the Nobles I've had have also had upgrades!

The one big plus is the gearbox which brings the car alive and works pretty dam close my Radical SR3RS

There is nothing that hustles down the twisty bits quite like it and I would say it can cover ground at a quicker pace than the Noble, really surprises me!

If you like Nobles it's something you would certainly enjoy for sure but it needs to be on a challenging piece of Tarmac, don't make the comparison on a standard road or you may find it a little mundane.

Here's an extract from a previous Noble owner who found the same!

There are a couple of 800-900HP cars for sale with quick spooling turbos and I just can't imagine what they are like, they must defy gravity!

Not saying I wouldn't go back to another Noble as I like both cars, would just like a Noble with the gear change the GTR offers !

Try it you might be surprised.

I was an original (helmet gift no less!) deposit holder back in 2008,and did the GTR track day at Silverstone for deposit holders in 2009.The GTR is epic, but certainly in it's early form left me cold. Amazing-yes, fun-no,not unless I'm going at speeds way above my talent that will wipe me out and likely take out a few others. The Nob I can enjoy at 40/50 mph in the right circumstances.
As an aside while doing a little demo run this morning at the Bicknacre meet I followed a lovely 14 plate Vermillion Red GTR, looked fanatstic and by far the best colour I've seen on one.

No pure fact and a typical uneducated response which is exactly what you would expect from some people, the attached comment is from another Noble owner who as responded in just the same way as I have found the car cool

No, the Datsun is a very nice barge, as I have already told you in one of the other threads, go and find the EVO article, it wasn't even close.

Justin has both, maybe he will be along to explane why they are so different

I've got both had 3 of each I don't need anyone to come along and explain thanks, I'm just stating what I have found! The main difference is how the GTR can use its power by laying it down particularly exiting corners whereas the Noble can't exploit or use all of what it has. I think this was very well demonstrated when Tux explained how his lap times at Spa were quicker when he ran less power. I think the wavy the GTR lays it's power down is what makes it feel like it's actually a light car!

I tried a couple of 400's recently and love the race car view and GT feel, both cars are great in different ways and they are still two of my favourites to own. I'm just trying to say you could be well surprised by what a sensibly tuned and well sorted GTR can offer. Let's face it in the real world without Nissan supporting it financially it has the engineering and spec of a £200K car!

Having previously competed against one several times which was exceptionally well driven & quick the owner admits that if he turns the toys off it was nowhere near as quick, so l guess it's what floats your boat.

Have to admit though incredible car considering it's size.

He got that very wrong then. laugh

QUOTE from Evo

Special mention was reserved for the suspension set-up also, especially when put against the Track Pack GT-R. Where the old car "would merrily grind your spine to pewter", Matthew found "more pliancy than you"d imagine is possible" when driving the NISMO. Like Nick at Evo, he was also at pains to stress it "this is no Playstation experience."

biglaugh

Think I will go and have a look for another Noble today just I'm case I get Playstationed out Lol

Spot on.

As an aside, I had an R33 many moons ago. I'd say the Nob reminded me more of that, crossed with an Elise.

There is no getting away from the fact that a GTR is probably one of the fastest Road cars money can buy and without doubt would give a 10 year Noble on the road a pretty hard time , it's a great reflection on the Noble that people even compare them together .
On track it's a different story and in the wet again the GTR will run a hide but give us a dry track with a bit of tyre temp and a modified Noble will leave the GTR in its dust and keep lapping long after the GTR's front brakes and tyres have given up and gone home biggrin
