Hmmm.... thanks for the heads up. I saw them quite a lot before they disbanded, and have seen a couple of DJ sets since, but its not the same as the live band with 2 drummers and guest singers and the like.

Apparently so.

See tickets described it as "Faithless" which I thought was odd as I didn't know they'd reformed, they have since edited their page to "Faithless live DJ etc etc show"

Will be asking see tickets for a refund, this is miss-selling (intentional or not) Whats the fundraiser all about BTW?

It will "Faithless Sound System" - Maxi Jazz and Sister Bliss but without Rollo. They can't call themselves just "Faithless" without all three members.

I'd advise against going down the refund route, I went to the last show they did and it was one of the best nights I've ever been to. They spent plenty of time up on stage and played a great mix of classic Faithless tunes and newer material/remixes. Great atmosphere too.

So is it an actual gig without one of the members, or a rave with celeb DJ's, or bits of both, a rave with a few live songs?

I'm sure if the latter options it's great but I bought a ticket for a particular thing, the mrs doesn't much care for being at a rave, (no disrespect but faithless live sets were quite different/superior to a club full of ravers, only one of these is worth the £200 that tix/club price drinks/2am cab will cost me)

I'd say bit of both, but leaning towards proper gig. There were a few warm up acts followed by a proper set, but then it moved on to a normal club night once they had finished.

Never managed to see Faithless live in their glory days though, so it's tricky to be completely accurate in my appraisal.

As someone who has seen both, if you were expecting a proper faithless gig then you'll be disappointed I think.

Nothing wrong with the Sound System side of it, but last time I saw them it was Maxi, Sister Bliss, a drummer (but not, erm, that girl?) and a DJ. Very different to 3 guitarists, 2 drummers, 3 singers and all the other stuff which Faithless had on the road 5 years ago.

As I say, not a bad night, but certainly not the same as a live gig. Its the same price as what they used to charge for a full live set, so a bit steep IMO. For a tenner yes, for 30 quid, no.

Sound System (skip to 5 mins ish)

Full Live Set (again skip to 5 mins)

Faithless soundsystem is sister bliss djing backing tracks, maxi, and sudha the percussionist. They also have their own lighting and FOH engineer - the same ones that do their full live show.

Live enough - and of course all of the tracks the punters expect to hear- but not the full festival show.
I don't think you will be disappointed in the show. As for value, I wouldnt have a scooby doo - i haven't paid for a show/event in years, so thats purely subjective on your part.

I will however say that Electric is a great venue.
