Just discussing with a friend how much a 993 GT2 would fetch now if one were to be sold. Can't find any for sale at the moment, any thoughts as to what one would be worth?

Wow, thanks for the info. Knew they were valuable but had no idea they were worth quite so much.

My suggestion having unfortunately dealt with this garage in the past and the owner Mr Stutzmann near Metz is NEVER EVER EVER go near them........ not even for a coffee. certainly not to buy a car off them-all on SOR allegedly................... their reputation in France and Germany rivals our favourites, oop north 'arrowgate and our Finchley area friends.

Fair enough if you have millions to burn, but they've got to a level where surely for most mortals, something like this...

http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/48567/porsch...

I remember a few years back looking at actual GT2 race cars (i.e. works Porsche) and they were similar money to the replica above. It's funny how the actual balls out race cars are often cheaper than the road homologation models.

its mad! i remember seeing a yellow 993 gt2 for sale in witley surrey, probably 10 years ago, for around £80k!

one of the best porsches out there and i would love to own one, but i very much doubt that will happen! replica is the only way now really, and as long as its done nicely i would imagine could still be worth good money due to the out of reach prices of originals!

in fact i think there is a rep on here for sale at £150k or so.

A few months back DK had a RHD UK Car at £695K GBP.

I remember this guy buying a dark green one from OPC Road Range in Liverpool for list, circa £132000.

That just doesn't make sense to me. How can a 911 be worth more than an Enzo? I know it's a GT2, but it's still a 911 body shell.

Lots of people who would have a 911 over an Enzo. There's engineering excellence in a GT2 which even a Enzo can't match if you feel like hammering a car around a track for 100 laps and use it as intended.

Enzo more than matches the engineering excellence. Only rarity is dictating the prices. No one will hammer a GT2 round a track now given the values when they can build just as good for 20% of price. Enzo can be replicated in same way.

So is a 911 R, 2.8 RSR and ST.

399 Enzos ? How many 993 GT2's produced ? quite a few less if my memory serves me correctly ......
Enzo chock full of electronic gadgetry, 993 GT2 has nowt. Enzo race provenance ? Zilch. 993 GT2 ? Well I'll let you do a search smile

i can assure you if i had a GT2 it would be hammered around a track as intended - its only money and you can't take it to your grave with you - personally I disagree re Enzo matching a GT2 from an engineering or perhaps I should have said endurance standpoint to be more precise smile

Yes the Enzo has more exotic construction and more electronic trickery, flappy paddle etc but you give it to a proper racing driver and it will likely break. GT2 will not. Massive difference from an engineering integrity point of view IMO though I get what Ravi is saying re Enzo.

Yes but it's still a 911 body shell of which they made thousands of, that's my point. It's not CGT, F40, F50, Enzo etc. which are all unique in their own right. The market obviously feels they are worth it or they wouldn't be going for that kind of money, but if I was spending £800K I'd be buying a Zonda not a 911.

Everyone's different I guess but I'd rather open my garage door to see a 993 GT2 than any Italian hypercar.

If I had the money I'd be buying one of these.
