Meanwhile Paul Di Resta is sat at home waiting to drive some tintop around germany.

What a joke.
Really. I don't think Di Resta was all that bad ... wink

Lewis' Beeb column focussing on his battle with Nico here. Slightly bizarre explanation for the chop; he wasn't saying "eff-off", he just needed to take Nico's bit of track to stay ahead. Right, well that's ok then hehe
Just like diving up the inside is taking the line from the other driver? No?

Could somebody tell me, and everybody else who hasn't seen today's sessions, what Maldonado did today?
FP1 - going around a right hander and forgot to stop turning right and drove off the track.
FP2 - crashed entering the pitlane.
FP2 - also forgot to turn for the last turn while playing with his steering wheel and went straight on.
Thank you.thumbup

not sure what to read from FP1/2...

Ferrari seem to have found something (I assume in the engine electronics department)

Same for red-bull, but not so much

Merc still look good, but I wonder is there's a lot more to come after Lewis problems but still top of the sheets?

FI looking like a step forward too

McLaren seem to be going backwards?

Williams seem to be about the same
What makes you think Ferrari have found something? Given that we normally take the practice times with a pinch of salt what makes people think there in better position then the previous races. Genuine question only have bbcs unreliable coverage to go on.

I have a feeling that the Mercs are sandbagging somewhat, which is probably why Hamilton was so hacked off despite being fastest.

If his car was feeling dodgy or had poor balance, when it comes to qualifying and they turn the wick up, then he may be struggling against Rosberg. So even though he seemed fast today, all may not be as it seems.

Yes, not just the BEEB but most of the media seem to commentate on the hype surrounding certain cars and drivers rather than the actual circumstances in real time. Some of the best commentators in other sports on TV frequently do that and a poor commentary results.

One very famous BBC Athletics commentator was often guilty of doing just that. Commentating on the race as though he had been practicing in anticipation of the hype surrounding certain established athletes when the unbiased eyes of the viewer at home could clearly see the relatively unknown new competitor obviously had a lot in hand and it was only a matter of time before they would pass the Champion and win easily much to the chagrin of said commentator who quickly had to readjust their delivery.

Still, helps to pass the time and can be rather amusing too.

I would have said, considering Hamilton's criticism of his car, that Rosberg would get pole but given the weather, which will tend to hide car deficiencies, then I'm not so sure.

How embarrassing are those "virtual" signs they place on the grass/tarmac at certain points around the track. They get broken up by the spray when a car drives past...

Morning all. Haven't been able to get F1 live timing for the last few races, just downloaded java updates and applets and I've got it now, to me it really makes a difference to my enjoyment of qualli and to a lesser extent the race, how does everyone else feel about live timing?

agree that live timing adds to enjoyment/understanding. Annoyed that they have messed with it this year so you can't get sector timing as standard. Seemed slow this morning, sometimes the TV timing was updating before the live timing, never had that before.

Bloody hell McLaren. I'm only able to watch the BBC text feed this morning. Was that operational error by McLaren or just slow cars?

I watch F1 on Sky with live timing and this forum on different browsers on each side of the computer screen.
I looks like live timing is running about five seconds ahead of the TV as usual but there are no sector times coming up, it's only showing some coloured dots.
Has anyone got sector times showing?

I'm trying to get Sky go on my laptop but I keep getting a window to say that I need to pay extra for sky go extra.

Thanks Sky. Here's my wallet, please help yourself.
