It seems that the air-conditioning on our MINI one is not working very well, unless the MINI air-con is just pants anyway?

Ambient outside temp was 16.5C and with the temperature set to Lo there was no appreciable difference when pressing the air con button compared to having it turned off, i assume this isn't normal?

The car is only 18 months old so i'd be surprised if it needs a top up already, are the compressors prone to early failure or anything? I assume it would be covered by the warranty if something has failed

Can't decided whether to take it straight in or wait until its serviced in about three months to raise the issue. If its run out of gas can running the system do any further damage?

Cheers,
James

If its low on gas you won't be running the system, pressure switches will stop the compressor from being operated.

Pretty sure that air con issues are a common mini fault. Not 100% though.
