Evening, I am pulling my hair out trying to sort my electric window issue out. I tested the power to the motor and that was showing 2Amps and 12v. When the motor was removed from the mechanism it span like a good un, its only when its placed in the mechanism then all I get is clicking noise and no operation up or down. Tried oiling and lubing up the runners and winding coil that pulls it down / up, no joy. the frame appears to be straight, so my only choice is to replace with one from a breaking car. To be honest if I could stick a manual winder and mechanism in I would. Less problems....
So questions are:
1: Am I missing anything blaring obvious?
2: Anyone looking to sell a passenger electric mechanism ???

Many thanks
Rich

Yep its a Bosch 069 unit, as for the base unit it plugs into, the label was really scuffed up but looks like a `Electric LIFE` label, looks v.old. Car is 23 so probably original.

I thought maybe 2 Amps would be sufficient to work?

Excuse my ignorance, but I am guessing the Bowden cable is the metal tube that the worm part works in?
With the motor out, the window pushes down and up when I use a manual approach with my hands....albeit very stiff!

Has anyone actually converted to manual winder?

S1's had manual winder mechanisms. Don't know how easy it would be to retrofit though.

Thanks Adrian,
I think it might me more of a `jamming` scenario, because once the motor is inserted back into the mechanism, when you press the power button all you hear is a `click`. its like it wants to power the window but cant. Would you get that if its stripped the teeth?
I can liken it to when you are using a power drill, once the screw goes in so far but the battery powered drill doesn't have enough power it tries to turn but just makes a thud / click noise.....

Hope that makes sense??? :-)
