Ok, so i'm looking for a relatively cheap week somewhere in the med this summer, looking at around £500 each max including flights. Thing is, not sure where to go. As its me and the GF going looking to go somewhere thats got a nice beach and some nightlife. Not looking to go somewhere like Ibiza (went a lot when i was younger and do miss it but too old now) but there must be places where there are a good amount of bars but not the rowdy drink loads of shots types there but on the other hand don't want to go to some mega kiddiefest family place where kids run about screaming all day long.

Any suggestions PH?

San Benedetto Del Tronto.

Our family have had a place here for 30+ years and we have always have friends come stay with us. Every single one of them cannot get over the lack of British tourists and value for money, even now you only get Italians and the occasional German. I have been all over Italy and San Benedetto has everything you could want.

If London based Ryanair fly to Pescara or Ancona for about £150 return, hotels are good quality, not the best in Italy, food / beaches and night life are fantastic. Get a hotel on lungomare (the main road running parallel to the coast) Google image it, gives you a good idea of the town.

The night life consists of beach bars (chalets) that turn into nightclubs, the locals usually turn up at 12 onwards and in July / August the vibe is great..since you mention Ibiza the music will be up your street also, can become (is) posy but that's Italy.

Don't like to tell people about our holiday haven, but feeling generous.. have a look at it!

Malta - went with my parents about 12 years in a row growing up! Stunning weather, nice people and enough to do. We always stayed in Qawra which is a half hour stroll from Bugibba which has bars and shops etc. You may be able to find somewhere within your price range.

Narbonne. Fairly low key, cheap to get inand out of. Fly to carcassonne or perpignan. Some lovely bars.

Split

Flight with Wizz (easyjet) are regular and cheap, an apartment will be under £150 for a week and can even go an explore the islands...I did a road trip to an island just off split last year (write-up with pic's in the roadtrip thread) and it was amazing, not as much nightlife as the mainland town though.
