Newbridge Motorsport opens 2014 Britcar account

The Newbridge Motorsport Porsches kicked off their 2014 Britcar season with mixed results last weekend on the Silverstone International circuit.
Guillaume Gruchet has stepped up to a 997 Cup for a full season in the Britcar Endurance Championship. Grabbing 11th fastest from a field of 24 cars in first qualifying, he took 7th overall and 3rd in class in Race 1 but topped that with a 5th overall, 2nd in class in the final endurance race of the day.
Chris Valentine (me) has graduated from two seasons in the BRSCC Porsche Championship to the new Britcar Trophy series and sadly did not do so well, with no finishes from three races. A wheel bearing failure meant retirement from the first race but not until he had shaved nearly three seconds off his personal best.
Next out for the team is Donington with races spread over the 10/11th May weekend.
