6-Series 30% off!!

Amazed to see you can get 30% off a new 6-Series:

No wonder they're starting to drop below £30k used on AUC site.

I wrote a while ago in another thread that my local dealer told me the 6 series coupe had become a "problem" for them. People were either buying 6 GC's or Cab's.....nobody wants the standard two door....which makes sense I think.
There have been great deals around on the 6 series ever since it came out but definitely unusual to see them so public and not hidden with finance deals or dealer discounts etc.

Yeah, but the problem is they now have a terrible reputation for depreciation so even if bought with 30% discount you're still going to get hammered.
I think thats par for the course with a car of this type. The depreciation (from price paid, not RRP) is equivalent to most similar cars IMO (and experience with a GC). Its not as though large, luxo barges (coupe or not) have ever had a rep for being depreciation proof. The bigger problem IMO is company car buyers dont pay TAX based on the price paid and surely this practice of artificial inflated RRP's to make finance deals look more attractive (bait and switch IMO) will start to bite in that area. For example on a 640d, based on RRP and discounted price (IE what you pay against what you'd pay if RRP was at the discounted price).
@ £63,130 P11D value 2014/15 BIK for a higher rate tax payer = £6312.80
@ £43,677 P11D value 2014/15 BIK for a higher rate tax payer = £4367.60

And that's before options which are also generally heavily discounted and with a low emissions figure of 148g/kg :/ On a car with higher emissions the disparity becomes greater.

The main problem with this is BIK tax for company car owners is always based on list price, not on the price paid.
So, I can contract hire a 640 M-Sport for £340 a month plus vat, so £410 a month, but if I have it as a company car my 'benefit in kind' tax for having that car is £609 if I pay for all my own fuel, and then around £800 a month if the company pays for my fuel.
The fuel would only cost me £150 but they charge me nearly £200 in tax as it is classed as a benefit!!
So, if I was offered a 640 M-Sport as a company car I would be around £300 a month better off saying "That's a nice offer, but I will pay for it myself."
That is without any car allowance, that is just paying it out of your own pocket.
If this car was prices at £47k to start with it would bring the BIK payments down to around £400 a month all in, still a pisstake imho, but one that many co car owners would say 'Go on then, its hassle free.'
Plus BMW would shift more units.
Setting silly list prices knowing full well they will be heavily discounted is just not very clever all round.

Got offered a similarly silly deal by Cooper Middlesbrough. 19000 for my 10 plate 530d plus 27000 off the list price for a pre reg 640d...
Shame I could not justify the extra £400 a month to myself. Not even MY man maths is up to that!!!

Seems the deals have gone again.
I thought I had posted on here, but it was in another thread where someone was asking about getting £17k off a new 640d and I posted links to loads of suppliers doing 640d/i M-Sport for £339+vat a month, with 9 months down, doing 10k miles a year.
Rememeber, they have certain allocations they can sell at silly prices prices, when they are gone they are gone for that quarter, and those sort of deals do go quickly of course.

So if the coupe is a "problem" "nobody wants the standard two door" and everyone wants a 6GC or Cab-then how come Broadspeed have massive discounts on the latter two aswell ?There have been great deals around on the 6 series ever since it came out but definitely unusual to see them so public and not hidden with finance deals or dealer discounts etc.

Where from? Is it me or is there a big difference between leasing an SE and an M Sport? I presume that is for an SE. Seems like several hundred pounds more a month for an M Sport.
The differential has varied - sometimes the SE prices have risen above the MSport prices - making it cheaper.Vroomer said:
Am I correct in assuming that the cars from the Jan 2012 two-year mega deal (£400pm) will soon be hitting the used market and nudging AUC prices down further?
If anything they have probably been valued higher than regular used 12 plates are being sold for, so doubt they will be offering anything cheaper out there. Gassing Station | BMW General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
