It looks like one of series 2's cars will be a Mk1 Golf GT1:

So a series of German cars, or a series of hot hatches?

They put out a request specifically for non GTi variants a few days ago.

More Twitter leaks - looks like an Aston DBS will be featured. Pushing the budget boat out this series!

I've had three of these - 5GT (turbo I assume), Transit & Moggie. Anyone had the set?

Jet

I should add, these may be for a future series rather than the one they're working on currently - they only started looking for the above very recently.

They were filming in Witham in Essex earlier. Odd, as I doubt they'll be featuring any chav cars as part of the series. hehe

One episode has them on the M25 in a Renault GT 5 Turbo talking to owners of similar 'Hot Hatches' i.e. 205 GTi's, XR3's, Golfs and maybe even GTE Astra's. Late 80's to early 90's fast cars.

Was talking to a friend at the weekend who knows a DeLorean owner.
He sold it recently because the value had rocketed off the back of the series.

In part, perhaps. But also the 30th anniversary of BTTF and the year they travel to in Part 2. DeLoreans are rocketing in value for that reason.
