In part, perhaps. But also the 30th anniversary of BTTF and the year they travel to in Part 2. DeLoreans are rocketing in value for that reason.

A mate is currently doing a rolling restoration on his which he picked up 2 years ago for a good bit less than £10K. If he does decide to sell it looks like he'll be in for a tidy profit. Great (read lucky) timing on his part.
