I got the impression he might have been told to be a bit more enthusiastic this series - he certainly came across better in this episode than he did last series with his 'can't be arsed' attitude.
It's clear he isn't a proper petrolhead, but I quite like his style in this series.
I gave up on the last series but, yes, if this episode is anything to go by it has definitely improved. It's clear he isn't a proper petrolhead, but I quite like his style in this series.

Indeed. It's clear he isn't a proper petrolhead, but I quite like his style in this series.
It could just as easily be that he was asked to play that "role" in the first series, the producers then noted the negative reaction, so for this series he has told that his "character" has to be more enthusiastic.

That was a real low point. He was downright rude to a group of people who had been good enough to give up their time. I hope we don't see that again.
At the very least he'll have spent a good few hours around them, and by that time began cracking a few jokes, taking the piss a bit. The tiny bit of footage we see probably doesn't reflect the day in the slightest.JonRB said:

Didn't they say £13k to convert to manual? About half that for a new Elite ZF box, maybe the rest for the propshaft, bellhousing, pedal box, mountings and clutch? Crossed my mind that maybe the crank might need work to convert from auto to manual, does on mine but then it's quite a different engine.
I can well believe that. Racing Green TVR at one time were going to be offering a sequential gearbox for the Speed6-engined cars and their projected price was around £10k + fitting + VAT as I recall. Something in that ballpark anyway. Sequentials are not mass-production boxes, they cost huge money (relatively) compared to production stuff.
That was a very enjoyable programme indeed. I'll definitely be watching the rest of the series.
Great end to the programme - £150 grand paid fro the Aston. Marvellous.
You may disagree with me, but I think Philip Glenister could be an equal, if not better replacement for JC on Top Gear.

I think that you probably need to talk to your GP to adjust the dosage of whatever medication you are on. Langweilig said:

I find him far more entertaining than Clarkson. Can't see him in a TG show in its current format though.Great end to the programme - £150 grand paid fro the Aston. Marvellous.
