I spend longer than I'd like translating initial sketches for powerpoint from paper onto the PC (I think far faster using a pencil and paper) and miss the graphics team I used to have at my old firm.

Send them a load of sketches or markup and they'd ship it off to a team in the right timezone so it was back in your email you logged in in the morning

Does anyone know of a firm that does this sort of thing as an outsourced service?

It's something I used to do as part of a team working for management consultants. They had an internal team based at their office doing shifts, and project-based staff where there was a specific need and funding.

I left when they started outsourcing it, as whilst they asked us to work through this 3rd party, the 3rd party had no interest in using us over their current staff, so most of us got no work through them.

Best thing that ever happened to me, as I still do similar work, but as part of a project team, so I'm kept busy with all their output and any free time during the day is filled with the other admin roles I've taken on. It also means there's no-one taking 20-50% of the day/hourly rate, so both the client and me benefit.

I believe the company who took over was Alexander Mann Solutions (or something like that) - but they were also investigating outsourcing to India.

This sounds like something I could help you with. Any chance you could ping me over some more details?

That's pretty much the sort of thing I've been used to, but right now I can't justify the cost of having someone on staff to do it (we don't have enough to occupy someone full time). Will check out AMS - thanks for the tip.

H18, will ping you some rough details.
