Farage is going for the OAP vote. None of them are racists, of course, but . . .

Cameron has seen a sizeable number of women drifting away from his party and the party's own backbenchers have hurt it over the gay marriage vote. This is damage limitation which will change into bridge rebuilding in a while.

'The party of traditional values' or some such.

Politics: image over substance, reality over myth, spin over accomplishment, personality over policies, promise over delivery.

Well, Millband has just got these services of Obama's campaign fella. Let the spin begin and kick em all in the marginals.

I imagine that the comment will also increase his $ per hour fee when speaking on the Neo-Con circuit in the US following in the footsteps of his most regal spreme highness, Tony Blair.

They'll love him.

Cameron says he wants more Evangelical Christianity in politics and is then stung by a jellyfish while on holiday. Do you think someone 'up there' is having a laugh?

You know the cure for a jellyfish sting!!! Now there's a job I would happily volunteer for in Cameron's case.

Lots of Christians were pissed off about gay marriage so have decided to vote UKIP, now Cameron finds God.
Hmmm, Cameron "finds God"?

Farage thinks he is God!

There's more than enough shouting on PH about the loss of our heritage, and like it or not, Christianity is a big part of that.
As are slavery and work houses.

And human sacrifice. scratchchin

You have to admit, one thing the USSR got right a very long time ago was suppression of religion.

Just look at how backward religious scruples affects the decisions (or lack of) of the likes of the unionist parties in Northern Ireland. They have a distinct aversion of implementing anything that their bible won't approve of, and put their quasi-religious customs ahead of the rights of others to enjoy their lives and freedoms.

Well he wouldn't have said this by accident. Signs of desperation.

I'm torn between that and letting him suffer. Although apparently the urine thing is a myth, so win-win.

Hang on, I thought The Powers That Be were all lizards. Perhaps there's some lizard vs Christian power struggle going on?

Others have touched on this but I reckon its a desperate attempt to try and retain as many voters as possible that could be persuaded to vote UKIP at the next election. UKIP's top campaign point is around immigration, the Conservatives can't approach it the same way as UKIP but by focusing on "heritage" and our country's long standing values, he is essentially making them more appealing to the same group.

My personal view on Church and State is that there should be clear separation. I find it quite astounding that the Church and especially Faith Schools, are still supported by the tax payer. The Church spreads factless rumours and promises its clients things it cannot ever be held accountable for. If a new business started up the same way that the Church operates today, Trading Standards would close it down in no time.

Why?

Given that 2% of the population go to church I think that Christians should stop thinking they have a right to tell us how to live our lives.

Yes, throwing all those Priests and Nuns into gulags and working/starving them to death was definitely the mark of a forward thinking and civilised society......
