Any shops selling Chickpea Bread?
Discussion
Apparently gluten free and with a low glycemic index, which is rare for a ‘bread’, which is what interests me. I checked Wiki, and it may well come under other names: ‘Gram flour, also known as garbanzo bean flour, chickpea flour, or besan, is a pulse flour made from ground chickpeas.’
I found a recipe: http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2009/12/recipe-for-lo... I’d prefer to take the lazy route, but I may well be forced to make it, if it turns out to be too expensive.

I'm not sure which shops sell it, but Gram flour is often used in Indian cooking (especially Onion Bhagis mmmmm), and is available in most indian food stores.
However, saying that, check out the poncy bread section in Sainsburys (usually pretty good), also the indian food section and finally the gluten free section.

I have gram flour in the cupboard for making onion bhajis. Bought at Asda I think.
Though I don't recall ever seeing gram flour 'bread'.
I've gone wheat-free for a while, and from this I conclude there is no such thing as wheat-free bread which actually tastes good.
I'd really rather not bother with it, and pursue the low GI route via roasted vegetables and pulses instead.

The best I found is Genius Triple-Seeded Sandwich Loaf, but still nowhere as tasty as wheat based bread, expensive too.Mobile Chicane said:
