judging by the tv, ( I know that's not a true representation) it looks like less people there today than yesterday as there was a good crowd at the proper end of the track for the ELMS and F3 racing as well yet that area looked deserted today AFAICT. Whatever, I think I chose the best day to go and saw today on the tv- even had a choice of 2 tv channels to watch.
Surprised that not a single Audi finished and nice to see Dinger wave the green flag.
It was definitely busier yesterday, far more families there too.

Not sure I would agree that yesterday was busier. If the main car park is anything to go by trying to drive out of there at 6:30 this evening compared with Saturday it was much busier today with the link road down to the A43 queued solid.

Like somebody posted earlier, I could believe that the actual attendance is much higher than it appears on TV. Apart from the Grand Prix Silverstone always looks empty no matter what the event.

Still a great days racing.

Today was busier definitely. Was a pretty good turnout taking into account the weather and the fact is WEC and not F1.

No way were there more people there today than turn up for MotoGP.

God they are ugly cars - but technology extraordinary , What did teh Porshe sound like ? I can only think of rally Saabs and Lancia Fulvias which used a V4 before and Lancia was so narrow angle it was nearly straight anyway . Intrigued...
Still think they would look better without the fin. And what's going on with the light pods on the Toyota? I'm sure they've spent hours in the wind tunnel but could they look any less aerodynamic?

I think the phrasing is 'weekend attracted 43,000 attendees', which may mean they sold 43K tickets in total = X thousand on Friday + Y thousand on Saturday + Z thousand on Sunday.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics. Once some venues started playing this game, all venues have to.

Great pics, what a brilliant weekend there! Just made me want to take part haha, anyone see the road-registered XJR-9 parked up in the paddock? I hope that gets used on the road often

We travelled down from the north east and had a great day dispute the weather been cold and wet. Saw this car under a tarp near the silverstone wing. Great day out.

Yup, weekend figure as this article also stats http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/apr/21/porsc...

Saw a few tweets regarding people's journeys to Donington. Noticed they were driving straight past Silverstone.
I'm a BTCC fan myself and live 10ish miles from Donington but there was no way I'd miss out on heading the other direction to Silvo, shame other people didn't feel the same.
WEC deserves more than 43,000 over 3 days.

Had a good weekend. Strangely I quite liked the grey and rain of sunday, meant I didn't get burnt at least!
Grid walk seemed so much busier than when I last went two years ago. Queues seemed to quadruple in size!

Some superb photos there, I've no idea how managed some of those angles, there's fence all over the place, unless you have media passes? I failed to get any decent images during the pitwalk, every inch of tarmac around the Porsche garage had a person standing on it. Incredible amount of attention, much more than I've seen at previous events (when it was the 1000km for example).

Agreed, amazing pictures!

I've been going for the past 4 years and this seemed the busiest it's been, it's a really good crowd, could have a chat with most people there. Some very nice metal in the car parks, I saw a p1, two Carrera gt's, lotus Europa (old) land old Skool csl lots of enthusiast cars.

Not sure if that is a genuine one is it? Popped up on another thread on here somewhere...

You're right, I meant to check the tax disc at the time but was distracted by the car itself haha. Comes up as a 1975 5.3 Jaguar on DVLA. Shame. Not seen a real one up close so couldn't tell the difference!
