Hi,
Today saw the final conclusion of the rebuild of my 3000S............
Last season had some issues with suspected head-gasket failure and a noisy diff, so decided to do a rebuild of heads, gearbox (to 5-speed) and diff.
Started mid January, taking out the vital components
gearbox was changed for a 5-speed, close ratio unit (from First Motion, excellent job, quick turn around, highly recommended) a rebuild diff (all bearing and seals, 3.54 C/P and an LSD, from Coventry Transmissions) and the heads were taken to Stage II plus a V63 cam (all from Burtons)
rebuild engine, gearbox and clutch
Have installed the new diff, plus all new bolts/bobins for the carrier and new suspension bushes plus doubled the rear shocks.
Re-installed the interior after instalment of the diff and then turned to the engine
After running in, checking, re-checking and, setting and re-setting valve-clearances plus rejetting of the carb went for a test drive and .....more ponies appeared (and re-appeared )
So today took her the 60 miles home, on which she didn't miss a beat !!
back in her dwellings (aka my garage)
All in all this has taken me 150 hours (plus 2 trips for parts) of hard labour, but the result is worth it !
A big thank you to my suppliers, a certain man from Coventry (thanks, mate !) the owner of the workshop (thanks Yvan !) and my mates (specifically Rudy.....)for all the support and advise over the the months is in order here....

Morning John,
Its a Viper Venom kit from PiperX, its not yet operational as I need to route it via the inner wing. At present the filter box does not clear the bonnet, so the hose from the snorkel needs to be an inch or two longer allowing the box to sit lower. It is on the to-do list........
In effect this is a cold air induction and btw the short black hose is a thick wall 70>100 mm, which only deforms slightly (i.e not less then 70 mm)
Sort of hope it will work, if not, its back to the K&N open filter.......
