Has anybody any experience of the GLA...
Discussion
Had a run out in one today, very impressed!
Am chopping in my Freelander 2 shortly, GLA is currently top of the list that went something like this;
RR Evoque - too common (even in Cumbria!)
XC60 - too wallowy
Q5 - just like being in my 2009 A6
X3 - just like being in my 2007 3 series
I like the GLA as it's a bit different. The interior is cool (I even like the 'tablet' style display). It'd be my daily driver doesn't need to get the blood pumping (got the TVR for that) but am getting really bored with the Freelander.
What did you make of it?

Thanks for the feedback. We did like it but as I have a ML, it was hard not to compare them. I think she is now leaning to the new A class, but I'm a bit worried as some of the reviews of them aren't great!
Mechanically they are very similar so you'd probably find any flaws with the A-class are equally applicable to the GLA. We test drove a GLA220 AMG line today, loved it! We were pretty much ready to push the button on an Evoque and thought we'll just try the Merc - a real spanner in the works as we don't know which way to go now. We can get about 7-8% off an optioned Evoque taking it to about 35k, the GLA with the various premium and night packs is just over 34k but looking on Drive the deal and UK car broker theres no discount there at all.
So confused with what to do

I'd say the Evoque is a better place to put your money in the long term as the Mercedes can't quite touch it for desirability
That's a concern of ours but the drive was really nice and to get the equivalent Evoque with the 9 speed auto would mean another 2k to find. If Mercedes won't budge on price then I guess it makes it an easier decision but obviously the greater the difference the more the GLA makes sense.We are going to arrange back to back extended test drives and make our final decision form there!
