Morning

Recently bought a '56 plate E46 convertible in M Sport guise which is cracking and i am really pleased with it at the minute, few small cosmetic jobs to sort but nothing major and looks just in time for the sun!

Anyway one small problem i have is as follows -

The convertible roof has two 'triangular' shaped pieces of hood which tuck round behind the rear quarter windows when the hood is closed, they are attached by a series of threads which criss cross eyelts but ultimately terminate in a small silver spring which is seated in a black plastic cup. The spring on the drivers side has become stretched and elongated so no longer pulls the threads taught when you close the roof and the trim hangs forward and looks untidy. I interuppted the opening/closing process yesterday to have a look but couldn't see how the spring could be removed??

It needs to be replaced with a new one for sure as its all stretched and mis-shaped, guessing its a simple part replacement its just knowing how to get in there and remove it without breaking more bits!

If anyone can help at all i would be hugely grateful.

Cheers
