Good morning all, I'm after some some advice concerning the hands on my 5513. I have recently noticed when viewed under a loupe that there are now three cracks along the length of the minute hand ( one long two short) and in each of the three sections of the hour hand. The cracks appear flat not flaky.

I have also seen a slight rainbow colouring (on the metal) along with a slight pale brownish discolouration (on the lumed part) at the point where the hands are fixed to the dial. Related? Oil? The second hand is clear of cracks and discolouration.

So my questions are, options to prevent further deterioration.
Brand new hands,
Source vintage/contemporary hands,
Stabilise hands,
Who to entrust with the work? Saw on another thread that Superlative time are recommended.

Or, just leave as they are, no date window so slimmer chance that if the lume does flake off it'll work into the movement?

Any thoughts or experience with the above appreciated.

Kenny.

Hi Kenny,

Have a chat with Graham at Superlative time, or Russel Tallerman. Both know vintage Rolex and are very well regarded by trade and collectors.

Many thanks Dominic, that's another recommendation for Superlative Time then, I've also heard of Russell Talerman on various forums so will contact both of them for advice.

Much appreciated,

Kenny.
