A hot tub for the roof biggrin

I've come so close but never quite got around to it.
Whyever not?

Now I know that water weighs a fair bit, but even with your lardy arse in the tub, surely the roof should be able to take it?

True, but a sauna needs to be the real deal, no half arsed compromise. Mine sees regular use twice a week, with temperatures above 90 degrees for at least an hour at a time, but I'm from the home country of saunas so I'm odd like that smile

Oh yes smile

However I'm sure that most people with half a brain build their own.

Hot rocks, wood-fired, birch twigs, beer, biltong... My idea of Heaven smile

Standard building regs are a load bearing of 150kg per square m. A cubic metre of water weighs a tonne, add me and a couple of birds make that 2 tonne per metre sq. Can't be arsed to pay a surveyor just to find out I can't do it and RSJs need fitting. If I can find a friendly surveyor to do it for a drink then it's on. Just not made the effort.

PH surveyors - pm me thumbup

A Dashcam.
Everytime I see something silly or dangerous happening in front of me I wish I had one, but I just can't be bothered with the research of which one is best and the fact that I'd have to swap it from vehicle to vehicle.
It's guaranteed if I didn't a meteor would land in front of me.

I do want one though. smile

Watches. I have my heart set on a watch and want it more than my left arm. The trouble is that each week my heart is set on a different watch so I wouldn't be satisfied unless I bought many watches and now we have gone from an MX5 budget to a nice house in the north of England budget. Not a chance.

So, I wear a g-shock outside of work and a seiko to work.

On the flip side of the thread, I always wanted a Scott mountain bike ever since renting one in France in the early 90's. Bought one at a ridiculous price in 2010. (More than enough to satisfy one watch purchase. Oh the irony). The Scott Genius (it's like the name taunts me) is hanging in my garage like a big ornament only been brought done to inflate the tyres. The trip odo says it has done around 150 miles total.

I could probably own any of these beasts but the potential wallet raping scares me somewhat.
just in case you are interested my B7 RS4 cost £250-300 per year to maintain (ex fuel, tax and insurance) and that is with an annual service which was over-doing it given my low mileage.

I sold after 7 years for 50% depreciation

If you're prepared to get your hands dirty running some serious metal isn't actually that expensive. My mechanic charges me to rent his lift and to pick his brains, I do the dirty work myself.

As for the thread title i'd like a wife, I can afford one but I've reached the conclusion that there's not a woman on the planet brave/stupid enough to take me on.

Could you afford the divorce?

They start off cheap but gradually become harder and harder to maintain.
Oh it's not the expense CD, it's getting the O/H to agree to it.
Fair enough. How about part-ex'ing the OH and getting TWO thai wives....a "daily driver" and a "track toy"?

The track toy might come with a few "accessories"
