I use iPlayer most evenings for cbeebies programmes on my 2013 Panasonic txp60gt60 without any drama, but tonight it has been a ballache.

Just sits there saying it's loading and nothing else. A couple of times it got into some weird screen that looked like a half loaded webpage complete with scrollbars and by hitting random keys managed to get into weird different looking iPlayer. It worked but was very sluggish and much less intuitive to use. I hope to god it's not a view version as it's awful.

Wired connection to the net, connection is fine, can watch YouTube on the TV, iPlayer works fine on the tablet on the same connection, TV is up to date and it looks like the iPlayer app is up to date too.

I can't fathom it at all. Can anybody with a Panasonic smart TV see if it works for them? I have had the "loading" screen up for about 10 mins this time...

Not a xxxx60 but iPlayer working fine on our 55VT50.

App doesn't appear to have changed to a new version either.

50VT65B here, no issues.
Have you tried removing it and reinstalling from the 'Market'?

Thanks guys.

Still broken here. It is greyed out along with some of the other apps so I can't uninstall.

Currently sitting looking at a white screen with "is loading..." top left.

Kinda out of ideas.

Just tried it on my 32" Panasonic and started "Click" with no problem. It's channel 901 on my freesat set.

Have you tried accessing using a PC to see if you have network issues?

I have tried it from various other devices without a problem.

Well, I did a factory reset on the TV (which is annoying in itself as I had it set up as I wanted it and of course I can't remember what I'd changed) with no effect whatsoever.

Then as a last ditch effort I connected via WiFi (I have been using a wired connection for the last month or so because of problems with wifi contention in our area) and it seems to be working as normal.

What's really strange is that youtube et al seemed to work fine (if a little slow) but iPlayer either didn't work at all or came up with a properly knackered version of iplayer. It worked but was crap to use (and that was after a slightly corrupted initial screen) and stuff played without any glitches.

In fact, the more I think about it I'm not sure that's the problem scratchchin

Well it seems to be working fine now on the wired connection - don't think it was the cable.

Going into iPlayer I see there is an option to try "new iPlayer" - I assume this is what I did by accident when the initial screen loaded so badly. Try it - it's crap! slow and much harder to navigate.

Question is, why was it so hard to get it to load when it was fine on the same broadband connection on my tablet & laptop, and other apps worked fine on the TV - in fact, once iPlayer was loaded, it played the content fine without glitches.

Any ideas?

Hi did you get a solution that worked for wireless?
I have had a working version of the new iplayer BUT after a bit of video watching through the browser my 60GT60 is now showing the crap version of iplayer that yours did ..greyed out, scroll bars, not controllable without a workaround etc.
Unfortunately my router is too far away from the TV to use a cable connection.
I can watch the internet version of iplayer through the browser and that works fine.
Like you I tried a factory reset and lost all of my settings which I have forgotten. typical eh?

I think it was due to the millions of wireless networks we have around here. Still using the wired connection which has been fine for months, although bizarrely I am having another problem that started a couple of days ago, where the programme will start playing but it is behind a "waiting" type logo and you can't control it at all...

Have you guys tried the powerline 'internet over mains' type plug-ins? My son's Xbone was suffering from being furthest from the router which is only 2Meg at best. I bought a twin pack of plugs and it sorted his issue.

Probably wont help if thew problem is with the application itself, but still.....

Exactly the same thing has happened to my TX-L39E6B and my router is next to the TV so connected with a single patch lead.

I'm not sure when it started but I get a spinning wheel when trying to play programmes. Sometimes the show starts in the background but greyed out and behind the still spinning wheel. Sometimes I just get a "website" loading bar in the middle of the screen and nothing happens.

Once in a while I can get it working but with scroll bars bottom and right while the programme is showing.

I don't seem to be able to uninstall the app and there is nothing relevant in iplayer settings.

Here's hoping someone has a bright idea.
