Here's the dilemma. I have deposit down on Macan turbo but have noticed the new RRS is looking an attractive alternative option.

Having owned a couple of old model RRs's and a Vogue they have all suffered break downs/faults so went over to Porsche and Cayennes with no trouble/faults over the last 2 years. I drove a RRS Dynamic and I have to say the ride was awful, but this might be down to the 22inch rims it was on.

Anyone who owns a new model RRS with any views...thanks.

Also wary that with the smaller engined Macans due to come on stream they may well be 10 a penny in a couple of years!

Sold a 3.0 TDV6 Vogue (L405) to get my SDV6 Autobiography Sport and love it. I'm on the 21" wheels and the ride is only very slightly worse than the sublime new Range Rover was. Just ordered my Supercharged Sport to replace this one at the end of the year too. With current demand massively outstripping supply in the UK at the moment I don't think the new RRS will common for a year or two yet!

I'm waiting for a supercharged, hardly any, if any at all, being supplied to the UK market because there are not enough engines to supply the US and Chinese markets and jaguar uses them as well. I ordered in August and have no date, not even a date when the dealer will be able to give me a date.

I think the 22 inch wheels are a mistake, the ride was worse than my Evoque when I test drove one. The Macan looks good but they've just introduced a 4 cylinder one. Eventually, they will be everywhere, perhaps not like BMW 3 Series but along those lines. If I can't get an RRS, I'm going for a Macan turbo.

I've had an HSE Dynamic since the beginning of the year and, having just come back from a week in Bavaria with it, I'd definitely say that you should go for it.

Mine's on 21 inch rims and the ride is considerably better than my previous two family wagons (535D and E350) and it is probably the best long distance mile-muncher I've owned. Very relaxing and you could drive it all day. Handling with the various gubbins on is perfectly tolerable, perhaps even verging on enjoyable.

Built quality seems thus far up to scratch (definitely better than the BMW)and I love the distinctive interior (plus mine's got 7 seats which is useful for offspring related tasks!).

I've even been off-road in it!

I've got a 2011 vogue and part exchanging for a new RRS.

My problem is I've signed all documents, paid over a £1000 deposit and my dealer is struggling to give me any update/ firm info on if the original delivery date of July is still valid.....

You are in the same position on your RRS as I am with my Macan turbo.
Thanks for all the feedback chaps, if I can convince the wife it's an RRS HSE Dynamic! Some used ones around but boy have they held their price!

I went to a see a Macan last wk. Lovely interior, but I found it very small indeed. I'm not particularly tall at 6' but with the seat back there was precious little room behind me. So much so it was immediately off my list.

Am I correct in assuming no deals to be done on RRS if demand outstrips supply?

That Macan is just so ugly, so yes RRS for sure.
It will also look better with the Aston!
I see you ordered one . Congrats.

I took delivery of our RRS HSE last Oct. Very pleased with it and would recommend those who are looking for this type of vehicle to seriously consider one.

The residuals are excellent due to demand and I have ordered a new one to arrive in Sept (providing LR confirm Infotainment system upgrade for 2015MY cars)

…albeit at healthy premiums.

I have an RRS SC 5.0 and would not compare it to a Macan. Despite the RRS not being as big as the FFRR it is still considerably more roomy than the Mecan which feels cramped inside. I love the RRS Supercharged. The engine is great and fuel consumption whilst heavy is still ok for this size of car. Last week end it took me from London to Padstow on less than one tank and that is ok in my book.

No official confirmation as yet but expect new engines to meet latest EU emission rules and new Infotaiment system. I am sure there will be a few spec changes etc
