I do love the look of the Sub , however i really prefer the GM2 and the Explorer. Both very handsome watches.

If i happened to have to sell on in the future , would a pre owned version be a wiser choice if i wanted to not lose too much . Or is buying new more sensible?

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Used is usually the way to go. Price rise is rumoured though so if you're quick new might not be a bad idea either.

No offense but of course it is. How could buying new possibly be more sensible by any stretch of any imagination? confused

It depends on the purchaser. For someone with serial flipperitis, it makes no sense. For someone who is purchasing for the long haul, and who wants a watch with the stickers still on, maybe buying new is attractive. But the sensible thing to do in that case is to buy BNIB from a grey dealer, rather than an AD.

Do you know when the price rise is likely to occur in the UK? I am considering my first big watch purchase - a Rolex Explorer.

No idea sorry, I've just read in several places that it's imminent. Lots of far more knowledgable posters than me on here though so someone else might have more of an idea.

Nice choice by the way. Still fancy a black faced Explorer II myself.

I believe the dealers only get about 2 days prior notice from Rolex, so I doubt anyone outside of Rolex HQ knows for definate......

I wouldn't bet against it being May 1st though.....
