I have seen there is a page to list parts here ;

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

but I have the feeling this is pretty out-of-date - it seems like a good concept to share any parts you might have (I will have some to put on there), but how can we encourage people to keep it up-to-date ?

I don't mind volunteering to act as an 'admin' to help keep it updated ?

any thoughts ?

Sounds like a good idea. There have been a few parts I have not known where to find.

Might be an idea also to have sources of parts as well. Such as places to get bits refurbished. Also, alternative parts. For example I recently fitted a rear Mondeo wiper arm and 550mm wiper to my 350i because I couldn't determine what the original was. I had heard Transit or Fiesta Mk2 rear. It certainly isn't a Transit and I didn't think it was Fiesta either. So I took my wiper arm to the scrapyard and sourced a suitable alternative.

My bit is broadly up to date. The idea is you stick stuff in there that you have spare, and then when someone needs it, they can make you an offer. I have had stuff on there for years and eventually it has gone. I have space for a few spares (do NOT mention this to the Missus at BBWF!) so it's no skin off my nose and I can help someone out occasionally (for beer tokens, naturally...)

So - please do update it if you have any bits laying about that you keep as spares.

A while back Big Al wanted us to tidy up the front page so we only have two sticky wiki's (and one is seasonal - BBWF). Although a couple more have crept on so I sense a purge....

From the "Welcome to the Wedge Forum" sticky there are links to all the interesting articles. So you only have two clicks and you're there.

This is so we have space on the first page for gassing, rather than wiki clutter ;^)

Also you can always click on this:

If you read the advert it says "collection only" the high delivery cost is because i was too stupid to be able to deleet the delivery option so made it high enough to deter people wanting it delivered

It is described as "Used Grubby Battered, Been in garage for years" if you could be bothered to read the advert. smile

Adam - just wondered if we could change the 'stickies' - say move the 'list of wedges owned by ...' as I cant see people using that link very often, and make the 'wedge part numbers' into more of a 'Parts wanted/available' ?

..then the Welcome thread has links to all the other sections ... ??
