Hello,

Anyone any experience or views on the Interboat range - looking at a s/h 22ft. Mainly for lazy cruising on the Thames, up to 8 people.

Seems that full service mooring, servicing, winterising, including out of water winter storage will set me back about 4k - does that sound about right?

Also insurance of about 150 a year - does that sound right for a 30k boat or is it more likely to be double or triple that?

Any advice gratefully received.

Novel design but what do you do when it rains?

Can't comment on Thames prices but £150 for insurance seems OK - it's one thing about boats that seems cheap!

I used to pay £200 a year on a £30k sports boat through Knox Johnson insurance.

That looks like a very pleasant way of spending the day.

And if it rains simpo he can

A put up the little Bimini that you can see in the pic

B have a larger fold down cover fitted at not a lot of money

Or B and this would be my choice, moor up at a nice riverside pub and enjoy the day some more.

The boat I'm looking at has the bimini and full tonneau and canopy so rain is no problem. Good to hear about the insurance. This is also a very expensive replacement for a Canadian canoe so we're used to roughing it!

Thirded on the insurance, I just got my renewal through. £450 for a c. £100k boat, which seemed pretty good to me. Includes tender and outboard too (much more likely to go missing) albeit at a relatively low replacement cost.

It seems like marine insurance is about the only thing that hasn't quite caught up with the other silly prices in the marine industry (marina berths being one of them).
