Morning All,

I recently bought a 2006 Hawkeye 2.5L Scooby STI with a NUR Spec R center section and back box fitted. The issue that I have is that my daughter has hearing dificulties and the noise of the exhuast hurts her ears and therefore is unable to go in the car.

Does anybody know of a replacement back box that will fit straight on the the Blitz NUR Spec R center section and is much quieter than the 83 db's the the blitz produces when the car is on idle. It produces 98 db's at 300 revs which makes the car a real noise box.

It's got 3" bore tubing with a 4.5" tail pipe.

It sounds really good but my daughter comes first!!

Many Thanks
BigGee

My Spec Nur system (not on a Subaru) had a baffle that screwed into the tailpipe. It made it quite civilised...

Just buy a baffle. One came with my Ninja II but I've yet to use it!

Probably wont be good for the engine if you're driving a bit harder.

You should be able to get at least 300 quid for the complete Blitz system (I sold one on eBay). Then buy a resonated centre and Prodrive or Ninja 2 backbox (I've owned both and can confirm they are not too loud).

Look at the Roger Clark Motorsport systems, they're top quality and sound lovely.

You'd need to replace the centre section and back box. The bung available from Blitz is good at quietening it down (you can also get them from ebay for about £25), plus you can just fit it when your daughter is in the car.

Think this is the same as the one I've got (just check the diameter) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110mm-TUNEABLE-END-SILEN...

Mine has a Blitz Spec S (just the back box that fits to a standard centre section) and with the bung fitted I can leave for work at 5am without waking the house/street/county. I can also carry the family (3 young kids) without them getting disturbed by the noise. Without the bung its not quite as loud as a Nur Spec R but not far off.

I would sell it and get something from Scoobyworld... You'll probably break even...

Yeah that's what I'm planning on doing to be honest. The issue that I have is that I don't know if the cat pipe has been changed either. I need to check it out over the weekend. I had thought of getting a baffle but that doesn't really sort the look of the exhaust out. With the 4.5" tailpipe it looks like a baked bean can has been stuck on the end......not good in my book.

Each to their own, I guess wink

It'll be highly unlikely that the centre cat will be a problem. The Blitz is designed to mat to a standard shape centre cat pipe.

I owned a Blitz which was connected to a de-cat centre, I then removed the Blitz and added a H&S centre pipe from Scoobyworld and it was just fine.
