Very interesting, £269 for the 64GB is cheaper than the 16GB Nexus 5, and it's a top spec piece of kit. http://www.engadget.com/2014/04/23/oneplus-one-lau...

That seems great. With this, that new Oppo and the Sony Z2 out there, how will I choose my next phone!?

Looks good but I wish they'd stop increasing the screen size. I'm perfectly happy with my Nexus 4 as far as size is concerned :/

I was reading an article about this and thought it looks awesome, it uses a custom android build too, a build that people who mod will be familiar with I think. But as has been said its just way too big, I prefer the 3.5" screen of my iphone 4 don't really see the need for anything bigger, at 5.7" its only an inch or so off being the size of a tablet.

Im not even sure a 5.7" phone would fit in the pocket of a properly fitting pair of trousers without looking ridiculous, what am I supposed to do carry a man bag to put the thing in, then I might as well carry a tablet, but if I'm carrying a tablet then why not carry a small laptop?

I prefer a small portable device that is pocket size and capable.

I'll raise you, Sony Xperia Z Ultra 6.4" ginormophone.

I've held one of these as a dummy phone tied to the wall in Carphone Warehouse, it is ridiculously big, and I have big hands, I'm an iPhoneist, but the screen is a bit small for me really at 3.5". A 5" ish phone may be on the cards, its between the OnePlus and a Nexus 5.

I thought the price was great for the spec.

I've been following this for quite some time and it appears to be a nice bit of kit. The Cyanogenmod build (11s I think) will work quite well as it's tailored for the handset.

To provide 64Gb for under £300 is impressive.

Very interesting, this could be a replacement for my Nexus 4. I'm not so keen on the screen size, but I'm sure I'd get used to it and sometimes having a big screen is an advantage. I've been satisfied with my Nexus but now 4G is becoming widespread it's time to start thinking about an upgrade.

I have an iPhone 4S and a Nexus 5.

I've had an S2. The S2 with it's 4.3" screen was by far the best in the pocket. In all honesty, the iPhone is the worst due to the shape and perceived weight of it. The N5 bothers me less in a suit pants.

As for the maximum screen size, it's more to do with build than screen size. A Note 3 will fit in most pockets but can become maybe a tad to big. In general, pocket size isn't really a limitation (if you stay <6" of course), it's more your own use. The iPhone is great phone, I use it as one, but imho it falls short for being a "smartphone" for me.

As for this phone, looks great but can you actually buy it? Isn't it some sort of invite-only system they set up?

The Oppo Find 7 is still the one I'd go for tbh.

That logic doesn't make sense, surely what you mean is it doesn't work as a tablet. As a smartphone I can't see any area where the iPhone is weak. But it's not a phablet and wasn't designed as one, yet!

I thought I was being very prudent saying "imho" and "for me"?

The screen, for me is just too small to do anything meaningful, even consume (websites, youtube, e-mail, attachments).
I have mine as a secondary phone for when I leave the country (half of the time), where I put in a sim with a data allowance and basically mostly use it as a WiFi hotspot. The fact that it can sync my (google) contacts and calendars is the reason I got one instead of a £20 phone. But, every time I have to look for an address on a certain website or type something that is more than two words the tiny screen frustrates me to no end, I often use it as a hotspot for my 5" phone, which I don't consider a "phablet", at all.

I did think the design was very familiar.

All the better, the Find 5 was a brilliantly build phone and Oppo is a great company to do business with.

I saw a woman using a Note 3 the other day as a phone and it looked ridiculous. I've never really had any issues on the iPhone viewing websites, youtube or email for that matter as the zoom function works quite well. But I wouldn't like to spend a great deal of time typing on one.
