Even in slick mode it will only permit 5 seconds in the air before brutally cutting power, how can it be disarmed?

If you ask nicely, I'll tell you how to switch absolutely everything off. According to the rest rider, the bike us completely unrideable, like the Eurofighter can't fly without it's electronics.

Just press the TC button to disable it? the top light on the left of the dash will be solid orange. You then hold for longer to disable ABS.

Please enlighten me as to how to turn it all off! Slick and traction off is deffo anti wheelie off? I didn't have traction off but seriously don't want a repeat of it kicking in after 5 seconds again,I'm finding quick shifter mid air changes tricky what about you guys?

You're not getting this are you? If the professional test rider says that the bike is unrideable then why do you believe you could ride it?

There is always a degree of electronics kicking in on these bikes. Without it the bike simply would not work. I'm not talking about switching off specific rider aids, I'm talking about the lot. Oh and if you're so upset by all this stuff why didn't you buy the model with none of this on it?

As said already, press and hold the tv/abs button for 5 seconds until the light stays on and "should have bought the non sport" scrolls along the dash.

Err I ride it in slick mode all the time, any of the other modes it's rubbish,I'm very sorry but I'm quite capable of riding it without aids, midrange is at best only the same as my old gixer k5 thou, the power delivery is very linear and if you need all the rain n namby pamby settings I'm sorry but get a 600 or 750,have you actually got one or ridden one properly? Rain Mode borders dangerous, there is zero throttle after about quarter throttle,I'm not sure which bike tester said its un rideable without all the traction settings? It's well known the 10 and 11 models were way Ott systems and have to be turned off especially on track days, even in race it will cut power when not needed,it's more scary for me to have a bike not give me full power when I've asked for it than it than a bike the that knocks power back 25% un expectedly.even at Cadwell running without traction I've only had two slides which were easy to catch and in the same place as my k5 would do it.

First the polite bit and try to read this carefully so that you understand it. Switching off ALL the electronics, is not the publicised rider aids that you can buy as options. It is the other stuff that goes on behind the scenes that can not be turned off. The test rider was the BMW employed development rider, I'm guessing he's better than you (but it's not really a guess).

Now the less polite bit. You're so awesome, I mean really, you must be a God or something similar. This is proven by your use of the word "gixxer" which is well cool in it bruv.

Back to the original question. Why buy a bike with all these gizmos if you don't want them? Seems a bit daft to me.

Thanks re turning traction off! On this occasion I remember it was turned off, regarding buying a blade il pass thanks, whilst all the latest super bikes are very similar i don't like the look of the blade at all and the rr has won pretty much every super bike teat since launch so I bought a used example to replace the awesome k5

As stated I bought used,if you care to check out what's for sale you would be hard pushed to find a non sport model, why would I buy the non preferred model and sacrifice my market when I come to sell? I simply asked how to not smash my nuts on the tank after a half decent wheelie thanks.

Surely nothing a quick dab of the old Alpinestars wouldn't cure? Since you're in slick mode........?

5 seconds is some distance at decent riding speeds, so that's probably why they set it at that level.

Could you perhaps time it so you drop it just after four seconds, maybe pop it into a decent rolling stoppie for a few hundred yards, then hook it back up for 4 seconds etc?

Would potentially help with tyre wear, too?

I wish I would have thought of this before I test rode the S1000RR below last weekend, would have saved a lot of frustration
