Having been approached by many people over the car, I've received many compliments ranging from an owner of a 60's Mustang jokingly asking me if I'd like to swap,to petrol heads asking me to rev at lights quite often. The car has always received a good reception whenever I'm out which was quite shocking as I was very paranoid about where I was parking, returning to the car ASAP when out at the supermarket etc, and having sleepless nights when parked away from home thinking it'd be a target for hate.

What are your experiences, have you been treated favourably,or spat at by E36 M3 drivers lol

I find that it's very rare that anyone knows it as being 'special'. Which IMO is a good thing.

Nothing really, which is part of the appeal, mind you in London they're everywhere.

Seemed to get a fair bit more attention in france. I was in a seaside town somewhere, having lunch in a restaurant and could see my car in the street, a guy walked past, and did a double take, looking at the front wheel, he came back a few minutes later with his dad and dads mate (both elderly and well dressed, so I'm assuming) where they kept staring at the size of the front brake callipers, measuring it with their hands, taking photos with their hands next to it etc before walking around the back of the car, all around, then pointing at the 6.3 by the wheel arches. Got me a little paranoid, so before I got in I looked to see if I'd driven over a nail or something odd like that!

I seem to get a lot of compliments from Eastern Europeans, they seem to appreciate German horsepower.

The best compliments I've received have generally been round my prowess as a driver for owning such a powerful car - I fail to mention it took me 6 months to get past C mode when I first got it lol.

a friend has a C63 in the same small town as me and I have the E63 - we both compliment each other often !

As others have said its more of a quiet in the know car until you pull away etc. Discreet ish. But certainly its the smiles and nod or a point from a fellow petrol head rather then comments as such. often its a double take as they walk past the car.

That might explain why I got a truly seven star service at my local Polish hand-carwash. Much to the annoyance of the Audi A4 driver behind whose car was finished up in half the time!

Ha! Leave your keys in the ignition and let them rev it now and then, they'll come out of the car with a fun size Mars bar in the pocket, or so I assume laugh at the place I get mine done

No way i'd let the Polish / Albanian / Romanian car wash near my C63. Worse than those supermarket car wash types who effectively wet sand your paintwork whilst charging you for the privilege.

Ditto

I once took my c63 to the local Iraqis......£5 later we were all done....when I got the car home I could actually see the additional swirl marks they had managed to inflict....never again!

I only wash it myself now and the car looks stunning every time even if I may say so myself!

More actions rather than compliment but I guess its still a form of compliment!

First weekend I had the car I had to nip down to Ikea in Edinburgh.
Was parked at the furthest possible point from the entrance in the quietest section of the carpark.
We had lunch and from the canteen window I could see a chap walking round the car taking photos on his mobile.

Fast forward a few weeks and I was down in Manchester for the weekend.
As I was waiting at lights to join Deansgate, a young guy with a dSLR came running out of nowhere to my left and frantically fired off a few shots as the lights were turning green.

Turns out he's a regular PH-er as I managed to trace him to a regional sub forum.

Love that pic, I think the car gets different attention where ever you go. If I go into Leeds only a few people look and smile and know what it is but then if I go to Manchester like above its a different story with people taking photos and asking you to rev it at the traffic lights
