Well loves trips out in the sun, has never driven it and says she doesn't want too. Closes her eyes when the right foot goes down. Her main concern has to be is the heater on?

Drives mine quite often. Takes it to work if the weather ever turns nice in the summer. We often share the driving if doing a mini road trip.

It's faster than her cars and can overtake!

Probably the only thing my OH and I don't have the same feelings on.

With all the oddball cars I've owned over the years she just has no interest whatsoever. She's brilliant in the fact that she never pulls a face when I buy something, she's even obviously pleased when I get something she knows I've been after...........she just insists "don't ask me to go in it" biggrin

Sure she's been out in some of my previous 7s but just keeps on saying " I can't breathe" or "I'm eating my hair".

Only "Toy" she "semi liked" was a TVR, I got fed up with that car within 6 months and when I sold it was branded a "t1t head" as another 7 took its place.

The drawback of that is I often feel a bit of a billy no mates when I go to shows etc., especially when I see other guys OHs apparently loving it and soaking up the experience albeit bedraggled.......top ladies. Mine would rather have her arse rubbed with a jagged corned beef can!!!

Don't get me wrong she loves to go blatting........as long as its in an X Type diesel laugh

I still love her though;)

Ive had 7"s since 1996 and she went out once in my first car a robin hood S7 (think she was embarrassed to be seen in it )from then I had track cars for years so she never went in any of those , but as my cars have become more road orientated last few years we have started going out in them for days out , escapism from the kids! although she isnt that keen, she will tolerate the noise wind and drive as she knows I love driving it and we tend to drive to nice places have a walk and a bite to eat while we are out.

little story ,first caterham Mrs c ever came out with me was my csr260 which had carbon tilletts , anyway we went out a few times no complaints plenty of room and quite a comfortable ride, I sold that in the August and bought my current S3 that I built up over that winter and put it on the road in the April with new leather seats, went out a few times and no complaints big wide seats and comfy, I did a trackday and almost fell out the car as the seats had no hold and after a while they made my back ache, so I bought a set of new carbon tilletts for it, first time we went out for a drive out in the car swmbo was struggling as her arse was a real tight fit in the seat, she twisted all the way to the coast about me re fitting the leather arm chairs ! we ended up having to go to a retail park to buy her a cushion before we could drive home biggrin anyway not a way I was fitting the leather seats back in it so I told her she must have put some beef over xmas as they were the same seats as the Csr had fitted and she never complained about those (they looked the same but were much narrower) anyway It worked and inspired swmbo to hit the gym with a goal of fitting into the car, result was Mrs C loosing 3 stone , I kept the carbon seats, sold the leather seats for the same money, she is happy I am happy and power to weight ratio improved too , not sure she would be happy if she ever found out mind smilesmile

Haha, that's brilliant Jeff!

Mine loves the Caterham. Since she's 23 (I'm 29) insuring her all year round proves quite expensive so I just add her onto the insurance for the summer.

The only minor issue we have is that she's a bit of a short **** (so I am, but at least I can reach the pedals!) and I needed to make her a foam booster seat so she could see over the wheel and reach the pedals! It worked out very well though since she can fit those and drive the car without needing to move the seat from my usual position.

She's not driven it on track yet, but she could do with a bit more experience first. Her first drive of the year is always a bit of a culture shock since she's used to driving a 1.2 Corsa, and everything just happens too quickly in the 7!

My Mrs likes it when it is sunny and a pub is involved. She is not allowed to drive the car, she has crashed 4 cars so I don't allow her to drive it though she is on the insurance.
I get a lot of comments like; My hair was nice this morning, Ooo look over there a sensible car that has a roof, do not slide it around the corner and st st st slow down.

Similar for me - I offered for her to be on insurance, (wouldn't cost much) but not interested. "What MPG does it do?!" Hair, not being able to wear skirt and climb out without displaying knickers, unable to discuss cases with juniors on phone when on call (though I pull over if necessary), going "too fast" (though I say that it only feels fast because we're sitting down low and I'm still within the legal NSL [when negotiating the zig-zag triangle bends with recommended speed signs]) .. or "swerving round the corners" (I point out that if one doesn't steer round the corners we would come off the road and it would be the very worst car off-road)..also the s--t, s--t, s--t, s--t when full acceleration - she's not keen at all.
My children are more enthusiastic, though my youngest, when 17 decided to come back from the evening concert he and I had driven to, not in the Caterham but in his mum's car so he could sleep... The eldest had cause to thank me when she left it too late and I took her at about 5 a.m. one idyllic morning in late June along the more direct twisty road to the local airport to catch her flight to Spain. She texted her mates all the way, then raced through security and boarded the flight with a couple of minutes to spare - I doubt we'd have made it in my normal car - the upside was a fabulous drive for me on empty roads both ways, with no traffic and the summer mist rising from the dry roads on the way back.

Sadly I think that being too busy with work to enjoy it and lack of spousal enthusiasm means that I'll be selling once it's had its service and MOT next month frown.

Out of about 65k miles and 17 years in Sevens my OH drove the first one once - for 400 yards - and has travelled about 500 miles as a passenger; most of those over one weekend.. Suits me- Sevens are a pleasure best enjoyed solo (doubtless this will attract the predictable rejoinder).

My wife likes to go out for short runs, but isn't a fan of Tillets or full harness.
She's very good about letting me go off in the Seven though smile

Wasn't sure if my other half would like the car, though she does like the open air and cycles even when it's pi55ing down. She loves lt even when she burnt her leg on the exhaust the other day.
