Does anyone have the factory options list for a 1988 328?
If you can accept UK list then in 1986 there were only three : air con / metallic paint / rear spoiler I think by late 1988 ABS was a fourth
Additionally it has a Personal steering boss that looks factory fit, rather than an aftermarket part and had a Personal Emerson Fittipaldi wheel fitted. I was trying to find out if that was ever an option.
The options list for the 328 I have shows Air Con, Metallic Paint, Pirelli P7 Tyres, Leather Dashboard, Leather Headlining & Rear Window Surround, ABS Brakes and Rear Aerofoil.
The contrasting carpet trim on the doors and carpets was a no cost option, there were no official steering wheel options.

If 2 have gone at that price, that clearly is the market price.
Well yes... but I was querying what feature justified a sale price of 20k above any car advertised.Sure Carb'd cars were top money but typically GTBs were getting higher prices than GTSs - which makes these sales particularly interesting.
i.e. did these cars have delivery miles, complete nut and bolt restorations?

they were the best 2 in my opinion that i have seen in the last 5 years plus , i don't think they were 20 over other 308's advertised recently , and if i had advertised them i think i would have had them at 99995 , Sure Carb'd cars were top money but typically GTBs were getting higher prices than GTSs - which makes these sales particularly interesting.

Well yes, true, but I was making a genuine point, the market finds it's level, and something is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it.

ha fair one , no i don't think its peaked but i had an opportunity to take part ownership in a Ferrari that i have always been passionate about and i can't afford to keep everything. trust me it was a tough decision on the 308, such a great car A more cynical man than I might suggest that if you're getting out of your personal car, you must think the markets peaked....

Is the Vetro premium solely due to the plastic body or are their other differences?
Being the first out, they are the purest design.Whilst some try talking up performance benefits, it's largely nonsense after 30+ years. A wide range of standard eurobox saloons can outperform any and all 308 variants.
Ultimately the vetro 308's value is down to bar bragging rights, perceived rarity and the collector mentality.
