Saw this earlier.

3 appearances last season, so what's all the fuss about?

Think Kelly will be gone, he needs some regular football so at least a loan will do him good.

We really need to wrap up the Lovren and Moreno move asap. 3 of our back 4 starters are likely to be new or relatively recent (Sakho). We need them playing together as much as possible before the season starts. Say Lovren and Moreno cost 20 million each, we'll have spent 113 million.

20 million - Lovren
20 million - Moreno
10 million - Can
25 million - Lallana
20 million - Marcovic
4 million - Lambert
8 million - Remy
6 million -Origi

We still have players that are likely to be sold raising a potential 120 million, so far our net spend is likely to be around nothing

Reina - around 3 million
Agger - 10 million
Lucas - 7 million
Assaidi - 5 million
Aspas - 5 million (after loan)
Coates - 2 million
Borini - 14 million
Suarez - 75 million

Think what I'm getting at is there MUST be a proven world class player that we're going to try for. A c£30 million talent that has genuine Champions League experience. Preferably a 20 goals and 10 assists per season player. A proven match winner. This is where Spurs went wrong last season. And without such a player (and we haven't signed one yet by the way) we're at risk of doing the same.

We clearly have the money to go after someone.

Trouble is, how many players with CL experience can you name with 20 goals / 10 assists to their name? There certainly aren't many kicking around at 30m and of course there is the 'Suraez premium' that will be appied to any fee.

On a side note, have Stoke pulled off the transfer coup of the summer by signing Bojan? £3m for someone who was hailed as a teenage prodigy after scoring over 400 goals for the Barca youth teams. He of course has not fulfilled his potential in his professional career but at £3m, worth a punt and the kind of age and potential that Rodgers loves to develop.

Well from what i read, and from links its clear BR still wants a CB,LB and another attacking signing. I think we will only play one up, with 3 behind joining in, hence Reus links, guy at Bayern etc and now Isco.

why we haven't bid for Hummels i'll never know at £16m, bargain if UTd get him

Borini won't be sold now, otherwise we'd have done the deal with Sunderland already. I think Lucas going is going to be 50/50, don't see too many transfers rumours about him. Same with Agger, no one seems to be linked with him - unless we're waiting for Lovren to come in before he goes.

Dont be so certain of that Jammy, they are still negotiating with him....

Rumours also he wants to go back home so is waiting to see if anyone from Italy comes in from him, can you really see him accepting being 3/4th striker after playing 1st team last year....

I can't see us getting £7M for Lucas.

And no-one other than Sunderland are stupid enough to pay £14M for Borini.

Porbably right, but I bet you didnt Sunderland were going to bid 14m for Borini or Fulham would pay 11m for Ross McCormack

Would Benzema fit the bill? I like the thought of Sturridge, Benzema and Remy as a front 3. Personally I'd like to concentrate on another good winger a Left back for the making (providing Enrique continues doing the business). Would even like to see one of our senior CBs go and start playing Kelly in their rather than lose him, it may leave us a tad weak when put in but despite the amount of goals let in last season I'd be happy with an on form Sackho and Skiirtel to do the job.

I'd say it's also time for Johnson to become the sub and Flanno to be the starter.

interesting read , 2 year loan with a 6million Euro purchase clause. Surely there's no negatives to that deal ?

Benzema is an out and out striker. You couldn't play him, Sturridge and Remy all at the same time as 2 of them need to provide cover defensively.

Gerrard,Henderson
Markovic,Lallana,Sterling
Sturridge

Do I see a £30m+ player coming in? No. I think Markovic and Sterling will be expected to step up to the plate this year to create and score a few. Just can't see us paying more money for another attacking player when we have brought in Markovic, Lambert, Remy and Lallana. All in attacking positions.

BlackST - Thoughts on the number 7 ? do you think Remy will get it ? I am not sure he will and if he doesn't that leaves it empty... hhhmmm am I reading to much into this?

RMC France: Loïc Remy has taken a €20,000 per-week pay-cut to join Liverpool and play Champions League football.

Apart from integrating another player into the squad where you are already expecting 2 other of your current players to step up to challenge/displace Johnson...apart from that then no.

I am not sure we would spend that much for a DM?
UTD fans seem to rate him very highly, is he more than just a DM? Keyser?

Papers just love winding us up during the transfer window haha

Can't see us paying £200k a week for someone unproven in the PL.

I tell you this now. £42m on Vidal would be biggest waste of money since Carrol. Well, maybe since Ozil.
