Just shows we should have sold him or bought another striker. Balotelli hasn't just become the player we see now playing for us. He's always needed players running off him. Still don't understand what happened with Remy. He'd have been perfect. Still nice to see Borini conduct himself professionally and give his all every time he gets a chance. Really should have buried that header though.

He is at least showing hunger and desire. That is a good sign. A player that wants to prove himself.

I follow the English teams in Europe, despite not being an LFC supporter.
If LFC continue to play at the standard they did last night they will be exiting before the group stages!
For me, the only stand out players in the team last night was Moreno & Sterling, they seemed to be the only ones making things happen. Balotelli was no better than useless until Borini came on, Mignolet is really dodgy & either needs a change of training coach or to not be playing in the C.League. Sakho looks like he's continually running in treacle & some of Lovrens decision making was questionable!

I really think if they play in the formation they started in last night they'll struggle in the league, it shows how much of an asset Sturridge is to you guys & how much you miss him!

Exactly why he deserved more support from us when wanted to stay as opposed to being hammered for not leaving.

With Borini, do we have a new Dirk Kuyt in the making ?
Lots of running, not so many goals ?

He's always been a bit of a Kuyt - it's a comparison I made when he first joined. However Kuyt did have a habit of cropping up with an important goal every now and then. Let's hope Borini can do the same!

Borini had a decent return for Roma where he played up front. The problem with a striker of his type with bigger players in the side is that they inevitably get played out of position and his goals ratio will suffer as a result. That said his return for Sunderland wasn't stellar was it - merely ok. At least he is a tryer unlike, say, Aquilani, and if he gets a run in the side I'd expect him to get a few goals.

He didn't want to join Sunderland. That's not the same as him wanting to stay is it?

We just made hard work of the whipping boys in the group. Glad it's over and we have 3 points.

We can't continue playing with Balotelli up front with no support around him. As for our keeper, bring on Victor Valdes. Far too many weaknesses to his game to play at this level.

Thought Moreno had another very good game and Lovren is looking better every game.
Sakho is clumsy, and seems to struggle getting his feet right.

Our tactics and formation needs addressing. We haven't got Suarez any more, we need to play a formation that suits our players. 2 up front for me.
Agree on all fronts wink

Right and you spoke to him when?
Well given 2 clubs offered and he turned them down to stay with Liverpool it does prove that he wanted to stay at Liverpool this season. Pretty fking simple.

You have no idea what he wants and I don't either but he's still here when he could have left - gives a bit more credence to my point than yours.
