Moving on to Wed, ultimately, we do not need to win the games against RM, we can afford to get beaten and still qualify for the next round, assuming we win all or most of the other games. It would obviously be good if we gave a good performance and a defeat is a bit more palatable if we play well and give our all (which we don't seem to have done lately). Lets hope for a big European night at Anfield and I don't have to watch from behind the sofa.
As long as Ludogorets or Basel don't get a shock win/draw against them!SydneyBridge said:
Mario is an easy target but he just comes across sometimes as not caring, and I am sure that is not true, it's just the way he seems sometimes and his 'shot' just before half time summed that up. I am sure he is getting really frustrated as well and would have loved to score 2 goals instead of the OG's yesterday
I agree. I defended Suarez in his first season when he wasn't scoring because it was obvious he was putting in a shift. Same with a lot of other players that some people constantly harp on about.Mario however cannot look more disinterested. Had no clue we took that freekick quickly yesterday (the one that lead to the first OG) because he was slooooowly walking away with his back to the ball! If I was BR I'd be furious with Balo yesterday.
I want Balotelli to succeed at LFC and think it is still way too early.
His type of player always looks lazy, and it is lazy journalism - he is getting panned - that guns for him so early on.
Collymore in particular has been harsh considering.
It's the NOT playing Lambert and or Borini that concerns me more

BR has showed he can do that, with Flanagan, Sturridge, Sterling, etc.
I think Balo needs to be put in front of Steve Peters, but I doubt Balo would want to do that!

He is the sort of player the manager needs to be encouraging, putting his arm around and talking him up etc..
In reality, he wants to slap him.
BR has bent over backwards to blow smoke up his arse / make him feel loved and wanted, the fans haven't given him any stick at all, I cannot see what more can be done to turn this lump of disinterested "sheath" (did I get that right GG) into a second rate striker. IMHO Borini and Lambo should be starting, Brens refusal to do so is because he splashed £16m on Balo in the belief he can turn him round - this is more hope than expectation after 10 games, Bren needs to drop him but his ego wont allow it.In reality, he wants to slap him.
I honestly don't think Bren wanted to sign him. Why else would he categorically say we weren't going to sign him a week or two before we do!?
I think the rest of the 'transfer committee' effectively forced Balo on BR thinking we could make do with Sturridge, Borini and Lambert if he flops, or that he'd be one of the most astute signings of the summer if he succeeded.

Correct, there's some horse feathers spouted by some sheaths on here
Just for the Record Urban Spots, i never took offence at being called a Sheath a fortnight ago , TBH i really do not know why it's funny, but then again i'm very old so some of these modern sayings & trends go right over my head.As you were you cheeky chappie.
Does anyone remember when we signed Peter Crouch? Wasn't it 19 games before he scored? He didn't get dropped - it was keeping faith and giving him the confidence.
It seems that Mario is being treated to similar softly softly, encouraging treatment.
Frankly this molly coddling of overpaid, pampered, arrogant tossbags is one of the things that really pisses me off about modern football and if you can't take being dropped or shouted at while picking up more in a week than I earn in a few years that shouldn't be anyone's problem but your own.
But I'm just a fan, what do I know.

TBH he's an easy target with the way looks & conducts himself. It seems that Mario is being treated to similar softly softly, encouraging treatment.

You fella's on here are way too sensitive, I think i'd be more worried if he wasn't getting into positions to score rather than missing a few sitters , He'll come good he just needs a bit of time.

So Wednesday. Any chance that both the sense of occassion and the style of play of football Real play will allow Liverpool to "rediscover" our high pressing game and against all current odds, actually beat Madrid playing some of high tempo passing we did last season?
Probably not but we live in hope...Black can man said:

Wasn't aimed at Mario necessarily - we have a squad riddled with underperformers at the moment. You fella's on here are way too sensitive, I think i'd be more worried if he wasn't getting into positions to score rather than missing a few sitters , He'll come good he just needs a bit of time.
