Not sure you'll need the aircon this week, but still good hehe

A cooler week, with the South only reaching mid 20s, and a north/south divide around the M62 corridor. North of the M62 will be sub-20oC and sometimes wet. Summer continues south of the line, but sleep will be easier to come by!

A breakdown is never far away, so can't guarantee summer will continue, but for now it's thumbup
Yay, I'm glad it's getting cooler. It's been too hot to do much.

Any chance of rain in Gloucester?

Not really - only storms triggered by heat and humidity. The pressure for the next week or so is only around 1012-1020 mbar, so not proper summer and not Atlantic weather either. Pleasant, but dry...

Some chance of rain in the far SE - MetOffice warnings for today/tomorrow.

It would be good to have a drop of rain here, haven't had any for what seems like ages. The sky has looked threatening at times but that is about it.;(

Tricky to nail it down that far out - wouldn't be terrible weather, but can't rule out low pressure making its presence felt.

Nice to have a bit of a rest from the heat.

I'll now be able to install my air conditioning system in relative comfort ready for the next heat wave.

There's a chance we could be heading towards a pattern change. Low pressure now looking more likely to arrive for Friday (sorry!).

After that we could head back towards fine weather, but long term trend forecasts are pointing towards a disappointing August (again.)

Well it's been thundering in Haywards Heath since 6.30 when it woke me up and it's still going, only a rumble every few minutes or so.

Yup, I heard the first thunder roll around half 6. Been on and off rain since then, nothing major though.

Looking at the radar, those storms just bubbled up and stayed in one position. That's going to wallop anything under it!

MetOffice video shows why the storms were so bad in a limited area - they bubbled up and never moved!

Yep, still, probably saves having to water tonight. Pleasantly cool for a change too, whilst it was raining.
