Like driving? Visit Exmoor :)
Discussion
Normally I go on a pre-christmas drive to Wales, but as money is a bit tighter I decided on Exmoor today. Its close to Wales anyway
Being a grey and damp December day the roads were even quieter than my previous visit, I only saw one other vehicle between Countesbury Hill and the top of Porlock!

And just north of Simonsbath, before the fog and drizzle started to set in. Time to head home.

Well i needed to give the jeep a good run and charge the battery up. so just done 99 miles from cothelstone onto exmoor and back.
Took the b3224 just after bishops lydeard, wheddon cross, exford, simonsbath over the moor and down to watersmeet then back the same way apart from a detour to dunkery beacon which was stupid as it was foggy and raining and it added on mileage.
Average speed was a very unpistonheads there was a lot of standing water around I wouldn't really of wanted to of been up there in something sporty and light today.

It was a bit murky when I went over the top last week, in weather like that try something low lying like the A396 Exe Valley but be beware of slippery stretches.
I really need to put my dash cam in next time.
I should get up there more often as I'm only 10 mins from 3224.I really need to put my dash cam in next time.
Do you ever get onto the quantocks? There's some good roads there that climb up over the Quantocks and drop you off down in Bridgewater.

The B3224/B3190 between Wheddon Cross and Raleigh's Cross won't be much fun for a while unless you get up early on a Sunday.
