Actually, yes I have.

So to use your words...

You're right, it's dull isn't it? A mod should probably clean it up.

Good luck for the event. Hopefully among the noise has been some useful feedback for how to organise the next one (Eybic, you've volunteered for the next one, right?).

I'm not sure why there's all this stuff as if Eybic is doing it out of the goodness of his heart - it's his job, isn't it?

Meets baffle me anyway - forums are a virtual thing.

Believe it or not, meeting real people is quite enjoyable. Maybe you would try it?
I've met many great people and made firm friends through PH meets, whether it's local curries or drive-outs, national events like BTaP and any number of other less 'formal' meets over the years.

Do stop banging on. Yes, my comments are based directly on your posts. So in that sense it's personal.

Now get over yourself and let's leave this thread to the event.

What's the problem Ali?

Simply find a field. What more is there than that?

Easy. Anyone can do that. Can't see what the issue is.

tongue out

I think the problem was that hardly anyone likes me or RandleMarcus so they didn't want to go - which kinda goes against the "in crowd" accusations eh? wink

Those that did had a brilliant time (albet it was as wet as the last PF wink )

Sadly, I think simply being decent, polite or enthusiastic is enough to get one labelled as a sycophant on PH these days.

Threads on a Chris Harris vid is a perfect example. If I had to reply as follows -

"Chris, great video, really enjoyed it, thanks!"

I'd be accused of being a sycophant and licking the bum of "Sir Chris of Harris" frown
I'm pretty sure you can't simply call him "Chris", like he's your best mate or somfink. Your comment wouldn't be sycophantic anyway.

And besides. I believe if Sir Chris of a Harris is going to attend Pistonfest the attendance would quadruple and it'd be an amazing success. yes

In crowd - What "in crowd"? Or do you mean my friends? Because you DO realise that I know a lot of the Posters in real life, not just have met them, but actually know them? As in meet up with them regularly, have been on holiday with them, been to their houses & parties with them, been to their weddings, they have been to my house, my parties and are attending my Wedding?
Apologies - I've just had to re-read this after pissing myself and a double-take !! Thought you wrote 'panties'. I see you did not.

Having worked for a magazine company producing events for 8 years I can confirm that most have a dedicated events team and Haymarket are no different. It's a little unair to unload this on Eybic so the offer is there for a beer in London to offer any advice I can.

Agree completely, and the reason I mentioned the "in-crowd" in this thread is because so many people think it is the in thing to do, a bit like MX5 being the answer to every "what car?"; "winged horse of tat" being the answer to every present, and that putting others down, posting uniformative crap feedback when help is requested, asking for pictures of women etc is the "done" thing and that it makes them on trend and "part of PH folklore" and funny.
