Afternoon all-

looking for some recent NYC recommendations; i have been trawling the various guides, and none of them come up with common choices. I know there are 100's of options in the city but it would be good to hear from a recent visitor about some great nosh.

Mid- high price range is fine.
Already booked Hakkasan, Abboccato and Aquavit.

Forgot the name, but the one at the top of a skyscraper with a view of the whole city, the resturants spins round slowly giving you a view of everything.

I've eaten out here at least 150 times in the last year and if I was going out tonight (I am!) I'd suggest Blue Hill.

Make sure you try either Danji or Hanjan too, if you like that kind of thing.

Pampano on E 49th St between 2nd & 3rd is a must every time I am in NYC

The smoked swordfish pate starter then the tasting platter of 4 ceviches as a main. The best I have ever had anywhere in the world! Also a fabulous array of tequila.

^^^ THIS!! ^^^

Also, for good steak, STK in meatpacking - loads of other restaurant in this area, worth a walk around to see what you like.

For a unique experience, coyote ugly style, make a trip to Hogs and Heifers too, before or after dinner, as in the same vicinity - very good fun indeed!!

Then maybe drinks at the Gansevoort, Plunge rooftop bar. I haven't had food there, but the drinks and atmosphere is pretty cool!!

Try China Grill in midtown, good quality asian fusion, seems to full of fashionable TV types, so if that isn't your thing stay away.

This was my favourite place when I was in NY in December.

I can't remember the name of the Korean BBQ I went to, but that was really good too. "Korea town" is a couple of blocks down from the Empire State Building.

we stayed in the marriot and not being quite the archetypal ph settled for the sunday buffet brunch deal, was very good but the restaurant revolving while the buffet is static messes with your head a bit (ie you load up a plate, turn to go back to your table and it's moved) laugh

A timely thread - I'm in NYC in June. We're going to Eleven Madison Park but nothing else booked/planned so will watch this thread with interest.
