Hello all. I'm about to relocate to Shanghai and to my horror, I've realised I have to sell my car as I can't import any into the country, plus any new cars I'd like are astronomically priced in China.
Can I ask any Shanghai or other PRC PH-ers.....what do you do to feed the driving habit? Does the Shanghai circuit at least do track days?
I love my cars and whilst the move still makes sense overall, I'm gutted to think I can't feed my habit over there

To be honest, Shanghai International Circuit in particular is not really set up for track days etc as we know it from other countries.
There are some periodically, but circuit hire is SOOOOO expensive that it makes it really difficult.
There is Tianma Circuit in Shanghai too, and there is some stuff done there, but never really found out much about it.
Instead, I keep a race car at Zhuhai Circuit in South of China, which is much more set up for open test days etc and club racing, and then fly down from SH periodically to test and race.
Its not the easiest thing to do here...

Thats the thing I hate about being here, not having a car and realistically no way (nor reasonable need more to the point) to have a car here.
Most of the time I am on my electric scooter, think back to your very first car, no speed but quicker than some, but the trick is reading the road, watch the locals and how they handle junctions and lights etc and then 'beat them'...
From what i can see (and for my circumstances) there aren't really any other options, I may upgrade to a motorbike in the future, not sure yet though.
