If it's the same as the one in laygate I'd give it a miss

Have checked trip advisor?

I didn't think much to the one in South Shields but it seems the reviews on TA or good, bit like a taybarn

Besides your spoilt for choice down ocean road, food at Indigo last outing was top draw

Iv recently been using a take out in hebburn called Abby's, addicted to the Tikka Zeel or chicken naga.

Might give that a wide berth then. Heard good things about rupali though in Newcastle. Might give them a try instead.

The Rupali is alright. Beyond Curry Hell, it's nothing special. Sadly, the legendary Sampan in Darras Hall is long gone, they did the best curry for miles!

Kamal on Stanhope street. Otherwise try Valley Junction or Sachin (pricier).
Aneesa was okay - lots of different things to try but not amazing curries and some find the troughing aspect offputting.

Been a few times to Aneesa's in South Shields and not had a bad meal yet, no licence so you take your own

Aneesa in Newcastle is licensed, been a few time, I enjoyed it. Prefer the tandoor stuff they have fresh off the grill. The currys are nice but different from your usual takeaway. Good for someone who would like to try currys as there are loads to choose from. They also have a "live" stir fry station, pizza's and loads of salads and puds.
