As title suggests, when you switch the ignition off the heating and ventilation blower continues to go, resulting in a flat battery if not noticed.
Blower works in all positions so does not appear to be the known issue of resisitors failing.
When I pull the 40A fuse under the bonnet for the blower it kills it.

I am thinking there must be a relay somewhere for the blower only which is jamming but I can't seem to find mention of one. All the other things like radio , wipers etc switch off with the ignition so it is obviously something unique to the power to the blower.

Any thoughts?

The transistorised heater speed control unit has an internal fault.

The module is usually attached to the blower motor or next to it in the case of your C3, it has a large aluminium heat sink on it to allow effective cooling.

If the pollen filter is blocked, it doesn't allow sufficient air to floe through the system and the transistor burns out and causes the fault that you have.

Here's a picture of one on Ebay:

Thanks for that information - father in law has actually been ill after an eye operation and unable to drive so we still haven't got round to fixing the problem.
Will have a look at this - do you know off hand where the actual blower is, what we need to dismantle to get to it etc?

Many thanks
