I've still got the 1970 Esso coins, 2 sets actually, one in the red folder and one in the more expensive blue card. That was my first world cup I was old enough to appreciate.

Unfortunately we never qualified for 74 and 78.

By the time we got to 82 I was 19 and spent all my money actually going to the world cup and bumming around Spain. So never did the Panini thing.

I randomly bought two sets of those on ebay a few weeks ago. Still not sure why.

£15.99 for both. I know how you feel though as I was convinced I was sitting on the price of one with my two George Best fivers.

Mmmmm, I guess the Targa stays on the back burner for now.

My son is collecting them (me really - He's only 6 lol).

I was amazed to hear that they're not allowed the swaps at school these days, not even lunch breaks or anything. If they're seen at school at any time they will be confiscated. This was the main thing for me (30 years ago) when you congregated at the bike sheds with the pile of swaps you had!

He's about half way through the book. Going to have to get a move on if we're to fill it up before kick off on the 12th!

If anyone has finished their book and wants to sell a bunch of swaps, then just PM me as I could do with a bunch to go through!

The world has gone mad. That's ridiculous.

My son was in serious trouble recently for selling packets of sweets in school. The school tuck shop sold them for 40p, but they were 7 packets for a pound in Poundland. So he was knocking them out at 30p a pack and clearing £1.10 profit on each pound spent. Great mark up.

Teacher caught him, phone call home, long lecture and detention. Funny thing was, at the end of the lecture, he was told to hurry up and run along as he was already late for Business Studies! confused

Did you not have anything to say to the teacher?

Our book only has around 200 stickers in at the moment. Got 10 packs unopened at home to do this evening with the little lad.
