So, Amita or Sabal?

Which one is "best"? There's only one way to find out.....

I went with Amita as she looked kinda hot. Seems a bit needy now.

I loved the stealth aspect of FC3, but with FC4 now I've done all of the towers and unlocked the Buzzsaw all I want to do is raid Outposts through the front door and hope for as many reinforcements as possible. A 400 shot magazine makes for a lot of fun.

I did the campaign following all of the Amita quests - I thought the North part ended really suddenly and was quite short. Now I'm doing it again following the Sabal quests. So far I'm preferring the Amita way.

Never played FC before but looking for games for ps4. I've borrowed an Xbox version of FC3, how similar is 3 to 4?
I.e. If I enjoy 3 should I enjoy 4?

4 is 3 with a different map basically, and the odd different weapon.... So yes, you will like it.

IF you've finished the game, read the spoiler tag at the bottom for my thoughts on the choice there.

Anyway, I finished this yesterday. I thought it was pretty good. Far, far better than FC3, which was just awful. The masterstroke in FC4 was giving the location some character. Indeed, it's probably the best thing about the game. Gone is the boring island of FC3, replaced with a very interesting and rich world to explore. Although the map is roughly the same size as FC3, the density of content is much greater and the mission variety is fantastic.

Despite the setting being so brilliant, the characters were dreadful, apart from Min. Reggie and Yogi were a constant source of irritation as every mission with them seemed to bring another long, dull cutscene followed by a rubbish run through some psychedelic hues. I really hoped their storyline would conclude with them being shot and killed, preferably by the player. Similarly, Longinus was another pain in the arse. I had hoped you'd be able to kill him off pretty quickly, but that never happened.

Anyway, although I really enjoyed the game and found it very addictive, the ending felt a bit rushed. I've read that the intention was to make the endgame choices less clear cut than on FC3, and it certainly came across that way! The story sort of fell apart right at the end, which was a shame. The premise of coming to Kyrat to scatter your mother's ashes and being drawn into the civil war was a smart one, but the conclusion with Min was pretty abrupt. FWIW, I didn't shoot him in the dining room, leading to the part where he takes you to Lakshmana's shrine and explains that he and Ishwari had a daughter, whom Mohan killed. Then Min flew off in his helicopter, never to be seen again.

Now, who was worse, Sabal or Amita? There is no doubt as the game draws to a close that neither is a 'good' choice. I went with Sabal throughout the entire game, and was met at the end with the cutscene at the Jalendu Temple of him executing Amita's followers and announcing that Bhadra is now the Tarun Matara.

Amita is somewhat more sneaky in her doings. She claims she will represent progress in Kyrat, but if you follow her to the ending it is revealed that she is conscripting child soldiers from the villages to fight the remaining Royal Army forces and that non-compliance will not be tolerated. Ajay seems aghast, and asks where Bhadra is, before Amita implies she has murdered Bhadra.

Interestingly, you can turn the story on it's head in a roundabout way, if you wait in the chair in the dining room at the very start of the game and do not get up when prompted, Min will return after 15 minutes and thank you for being a gentleman, before leading you to the shrine with Ishwari's ashes. After that, he says "now lets shoot some fking guns" and the game starts. However, if you do this, I'm not sure how the game will conclude as the normal turn of events is to find Min in the dining room of his palace after storming the fortress, when he will reveal that he and your mother were in love and had a daughter and give you the choice of killing him or sparing him. Similarly, I'm not sure how you'd come to meet the Golden Path that way either.

I'm liking the new "Free Trial" in the demo section.. Spend ages downloading and installing only to start it up and be told you need to have Key or you can buy the game.

Nice front screen though... I'll give them that.

Okay, so i borrowed Farcry 3 on 360 to play to see if im gonna like FC4,

I was chasing a Tapir to skin it, it ran down to the water, i chased it, next thing i know a croc' grabs me, im rolling around stabbing this thing, finally it dies and i get leather from it, then i hear two guards walking along the side of the road, sneak and rush them both, then a Komodo Dragon comes out the bush, kill that, skin it, carry on with the mission.

Love it! smile

Will be getting FC4 in the new year for sure!

Well, this is a bit st.

I'm missing one hi-jacked lorry to reach 100% completion, now stuck at 98.53% or something similarly teeth itching. Wish I hadn't just blown them all up now... damn you grenade launcher!

Anyone ever seen wild animals having a scrap? I watched a bear maul a tiger to death, was absolutely epic.

Also, is it me or after a while on a mission, if you have to find something and you can't, it appears on the map? I was really struggling to find a grappling hook then suddenly it was on my map, I'm sure it wasn't there all along?

Ending spoilers

By the end I felt like a terrible person and just wanted to murder both Amita and Sabal and leave Pagan in charge. Better the devil you know and all that. I'd sided with Amita from the start but as the game progressed it became more apparent she was a nutjob so I switched to Sabal before going on to murder Amita. Out of the two I felt Sabal was the best choice although I'd shoot him the face as well given the opportunity.

I spared Pagan, it felt wrong murdering him as let's be honest, he hadn't actually done anything wrong to the player. He takes you to his palace, offers you dinner and you run off, join a bunch of terrorists and start murdering people. Like he says himself at the end, you just became a lunatic. I couldn't really hold a grudge against the guy so let him go and felt it was the right decision when it turns out your mother killed your father because he's child killing monster.

It was a good ending I thought. Turned out there are no good guys, and whichever noble cause you choose will damn the people of Kyrat. Some places just can't be saved. I let Pagan go too, didn't seem right to kill him - he was the only likeable character in the game!

Yeah, figured it out eventually. Only downside is that it's really expensive recapturing them all with nothing to loot except dead bodies.

Another teeth itch is that I can't 'discover' two locations even though I've most definitely discovered them.

I seem to have a small loot bag now as well after unlocking the compounds. Does discovery of all locations add to the 100%

Cheers for the tip. I've been looking everywhere for two remaining hi-jack trucks! I've also discovered a location which won't confirm it on the map but they're not needed for 100% completion.

Currently on 92%.

I notice this has now dropped to £25.99 for the PC (physical DVD) on Amazon. I think that's a price I'm happy to pay so I'll give it a go. Something to do over Xmas anyway.

Edit: If it's cheaper elsewhere, even as a digital download, please let me know ASAP as I could still cancel the Amazon order. Ta!
