Having had mine done just over a weeks ago some advice:

1) Take it easy. Really easy. Sit on your arse as much as possible.
2) Wear insanely tight pants - two pairs if you need to. You don't want those bad boys jiggling around in an way shape or form.
3) Wear the tight pants for at least a week. Don't be fooled into thinking your plums are ok - they aren't and gravity is not your friend.

this x 100.

I felt really good on day 2 and worn "slightly" looser boxers (but still way tighter than I would normally)
result was pain for a month.

I wore 3 pairs. I wasn't taking any chances, so kept them on for a week.

I jumped down a large set of steps on day three... I stood very still for a while after that..

You'll be fine mate. Just think of all that spontaneous shagging.
But not during the op!

Thanks for the support guys...had it done earlier.

Great doctor, very focussed on ensuring it was as pain-free as possible. Felt the most discomfort during the numbing process and had to have a couple of top-ups on the right hand side but nothing major.

Plums are aching quite a bit now but ibuprofen should sort that out.

I took my iPod in with the intention of listening to music through the op but actually ended up talking to the doctor about this that and everything else. All in all, pleased I've had it done but yes it was a little uncomfortable.

finally, sick bd of a doctor showed me the tubes he cut out! a little over 2cm each side.

I stared intensely at the ceiling throughout. What he was doing down there was none of my business as far as I was concerned. biggrin

Glad to hear it went ok. And in case this didn't come through loud and clear.

My first one wasn't too bad but I was the last appointment of the day for the second one and the guy was either incompetent or in a rush because it was far worse. Lots of internal bleeding resulting in a lump the size of an additional testicle and masses of bruising. yikes
I hope this one works because I will not be having another.

The usual number smile
My first vasectomy failed after 13 years and we had an unexpected new arrival so I had to have a second vasectomy. The tubes can heal themselves but it very rarely happens so the risk is very low. It was a bit of a shock when the Wife told me she was pregnant!

I had the same...felt ok....did too much walking without TIGHT boxers and on day 4 or 5 woke up with more pain than the previous days....had feel and thought "wow, that one feels larger and harder than normal....hang on, why is there another on the same side? has leftie joined righty? AGGGHHHH.....leftie is still on the left AS WELL....I have 3!!!!"

Thus followed an hour on goggle seeing examples of swollen testicles that needed wheelbarrows to move around.

Yeah, I was chatting to the surgeon too, half way through he said "oops". Quick as a flash I said "Err, point of etiquette, when you're operating down there never say oops". It caused quite a chuckle which probably isn't the best thing to do when your plums are under the knife smile

Christ the gallows humour. Sorry Mr G I'm sure it was no laughing matter but I've been giggling like an idiot over that for the last 20 minutes!

Had mine on a Saturday and went to the gym the following Thursday wearing my usual gym shorts with the built in mesh thing which holds your bits; I was at home within half an hour in agony.
